This is one locations I used on the edge of a small town/ village called Maltby. I used this area as it’s quite rural with some areas of forest, to suggest that perhaps the central character is out of place.

It might create the effect of horror as the audience may feel that the character will not be able to escape.

This rural setting is juxtaposed with the more urban city scape that is shown in the opening establishing shot.

Another area I did some filming was the city of Sheffield to show amount of people and crime that occur in a city.

Cities are often used in crime genre films as they are relatable for people so that they engage to a greater extent with the location.

The city scape contrasts with Maltby suggesting the character is out of place, alone and maybe helpless?
