1. Scope ThisapplicationspecificationshallbeappliedtoLithiumionpolymerbatteriesmanufacturedbyHDP.
2. General Handling and Precautions
2.1 Incaseofcontactingthematerialsfromadamagedorrupturedcellorbattery: Eyecontact:Washingimmediatelywithplentyofwaterandsoaporforatleast15minutes. Skincontact:Washingimmediatelywithwaterandsoap. InhalationofVentedGas:Removetofreshair.Getmedicalattention. Ingestion:Getmedicalattentionimmediately.
2.2 Keepawaybatteriesfromchildren.
2.3 Thecells/batteriesarerequestedtobestoredwithinapropertemperaturerangespecifiedintherespective specifications.
2.4 Donotstorebatteriesinamannerthatallowsterminalstoshortcircuits.
2.5 Donotplacebatteriesnearheatingsources,norexposedtodirectsunlightforlongperiods. Elevatedtemperaturecanresultinreducedbatteryservicelife.
2.6 Chargingthebattery Useonlyapprovedchargersandprocedures.Improperlychargingacellorbatterymaycausethecellor batterytoflameordamage.
Chargethebatteryusingthe“CCCV”orconstantcurrent/constantvoltagemethod.
Donotchargethebatterywithcurrentorvoltagehigherthanthespecifiedmaximumvalueintherespective specifications.Theabsolutemaximumchargingvoltageis4.25Vpercell.
Prohibitreversechargingofbattery.Thebatterymustbeconnectedcorrectly.
2.7 DischargingBattery Dischargebatteryatthemaxcurrentspecifiedintherespectivespecification.Ifyouplantodischargethe batteryathighercurrentthanmaxcurrent,pleaseconsultHDP.
Avoiddischargethebatterybelow2.75Vforeachcell.
Donotover-dischargethebattery.Over-dischargingcandamagetheperformanceofthebattery.Itshouldbe notedthatthecell/batterywouldbeatanover-dischargedstatebyitsself-dischargecharacteristicsincase thecellisnotusedforlongtime.Inordertopreventover-discharging,thecell/batteryshallbecharged periodicallytomaintainbetween3.7Vand4.1V.
2.8 OperationTemperature Thebatteryshallbeoperated(stored,chargedanddischarged)inthetemperaturespecifiedinrespective specifications.
2.9 Storagerequirement 2.9.1 StoragetimeVSstorageandambienttemperature Onemonth:-20ºC℃~60ºC℃ Threemonth:-20ºC℃~45ºC Twelvemonth:-20ºC℃~25ºC℃

2.9.2 Relativehumidity≤75%,Clean,dryandventilatedindoorenvironment.
2.9.3 Warninginstorage 1. Avoidshortcircuitwhenstorage
2. Donotlaythebatteryclosetotheheatsourceorexposeinthesunshineforlongtime.High temperaturewillshortenitsworkinglife.
3. Ifthebatterydoesnotworkforlongtime,itsoverdischargephenomenawillbeshowedviaitsself dischargecharacteristic.Inordertopreventoverdischarginginstorage,thebatterywillbe chargedperiodicallyandmakeitsvoltagekeep3.7~4.0V.Periodically maintaining batteries during the term of storage is necessary, recommended every 3 months after the receipt of the battery and charge the battery up to 50% of the total capacity.
2.10 Cell/BatteryProtectionCircuitsModule(PCM) Thecell/batterymustbeequippedwithaPCMthatprotectsthecell/batteryfromovercharging,over- dischargingandover-current.
2.11 BatteryShortCircuit Donotshort-circuitabattery.Ashortcircuitcanresultinover-heatingofterminalsandprovideinignition source.
Morethanamomentaryshortcircuitwillgenerallyreducethecellorbatteryservicelifeandcanleadto ignitionofsurroundingmaterialswithinthecellorbatteryifthesealintegrityisdamaged.
Extendedshort-circuitingcreateshightemperatureinthecellandattheterminals.Physicalcontacttohigh temperaturescancauseskinburns.Inaddition,extendedshort-circuitmaycausethecellorbatterytoflame.
Prohibitreversingcellpolaritywithinabatteryassembly.
2.12 Thecelledgeoftheheatsealzoneiselectronicallyconductive.Avoidtheedgecrossbatteryterminals,PCB, orconductivesurfaces.
2.13 Donotbendorfoldorfallthebatteryorpartofthebattery.Itmaycausethebatterybedamagedandresultin thebatteryswelling,leaking,explosiveorignition.
2.14 Donotopenormanipulatethefoldedcelledge.
2.15 Donotbendorfoldthesealingedge.Anddonottearoffthesealingfilm.
2.16 BatteryPackDesign Thebatteryhousingshouldhavesufficientmechanicalstrength.
Nosharpedgecomponentsshallbeinsidethebatteryhousing.Thesharpedgemaydestroythecell packaging.
Nocellmovementisallowedinthebatteryhousing.
Theultrasonicheadshallnotdirectly/orindirectlypressedthecellifyouneedtoenclosethebatteryhousing byultrasonicmethod.PleaseconsultHDPfordesigningtheultrasonichead.
Avoiddesigningairtightbatteryhousing.

2.17 BatteryAssembly WerecommendultrasonicweldingorspotweldingtoconnectbatterywithPCMorotherparts.
IfyouemploymanualsoldermethodtoconnecttabwithPCM,pleasepayattentiontothefollowings: UseasolderwithtemperaturecontrolledandESD Solderingtemperatureshouldnotexceed350ºC Solderingtimesshouldnotbelongerthan3s Solderingtimesshouldnotexceed5times Keepbatterytabcolddownbeforenexttimesoldering Donotdirectlyheatcellbody.Itmaycausethebatterybedamagedbyheatabove90ºC
2.18 BatteryDisassembly Neverdisassembleabattery
Ifabatteryisunintentionallybecrushed,thusreleasingitscontents,rubberglovesmustbeusedto handlecomponents.Avoidinhalationofanyvaporsthatmaybeemitted.
2.19 DonotmixedBatteriesandTypes.Avoidusingoldandnewcellsofdifferentsizes,differentchemistryor typesinthesamebatteryassembly.
2.20 Otherwarnings Donotheatordisposethebatteryintofire,waterorotherliquids. Donotputthebatteryintomicrowave,washingmachineordryingmachine. Donotputthebatteryontooven. Donotuseadamagedbattery. Donotpiercebattery/cellwithnailorsharpmaterial. Donotcutbattery/cellwithknife. Donottearoffthesealingfilmofthebattery/cell. Whenassembly,application,operationofthebattery/cell,donotextruding,impactingandpuncturing battery/cellbykeen-edgedmaterialsorsharppointedmaterial.
