INTRODUCTIONHeart is the human body’s hardest

working organ. Throughout life it continuously pumps blood enriched with oxygen and vital nutrients to all tissues of the body. To perform this task, heart muscle needs a plentiful supply of oxygen-rich blood through arteries.

Acute Coronary Syndrome or ACS is a set of signs and symptoms related to the heart caused by a decrease in blood flow to the heart. It often occurs due to Atherosclerosis.

INTRODUCTION A heart attack, or myocardial infarction

(MI), is permanent damage to the heart muscle. "Myo" means muscle, "cardial" refers to the heart, and "infarction" means death of tissue due to lack of blood supply.

CAUSES AND SYMPTOMS The medical term of heart attack is

Myocardial infarction. A heart attack occurs when the blood

flow that brings oxygen to the heart muscle is severely reduced or cut off completely.

The most common symptom of Acute Coronary Syndrome is chest pain.

Other symptoms are sweating, breathlessness, palpitation, discomfort etc.

DISCUSSIONResults of this analysis shows that total

cholesterol level and triglyceride level in healthy control and ACS patients are both in normal range i.e. less than 200 mg/dl and less than 150 mg/dl. HDL level in both healthy control and ACS patients is less than normal range i.e. above 40 mg/dl.LDL level is normal in case of healthy control i.e. within 100 mg/dl and in case of ACS patient it is slightly higher than normal range. Level of VLDL is in normal range in both the cases i.e. within 5-40 mg/dl.

CONCLUSIONConsidering all the results it has been

found that lipid profile in ACS patients is more than that of healthy control.
