Who is best qualified to know the needs of the learner?

What about the learner’s context?

The learner’s context is their environment, their social situation, their motivations for learning.

Without context, how do we construct meaningful knowledge from the information surrounding us?

The Challenge

• How do we as educators cater to the varying (and ever-changing) contexts of our learners?

• How do we support the self-actualisation of those learners?

• What part do Open Education Resources play?

Our learner’s know their contexts!

Learners know their current skills, their aims and aspirations (although not always completely!)

But: Learner’s don’t always know the best way to get

where they want to go!
