The ENCELIUM® EXTEND Wireless System Overview
The ENCELIUM® EXTEND Networked Light Management System (LMS) is a computer network-based system that allows smart control of lighting fixtures and lighting-related devices wirelessly. Each component is individually addressed. The main components of this system include:
• System Support Unit (SSU): Server
• Wireless Manager (WM): Control Unit/Device Controller
• Wireless Control Module (WCM)
• Wireless Wallstation
• Wireless Control Module (WCM)
• Wireless Sensor
Note: SIM (Sensor Interface Module) & LCM (Luminaire Control Module) are ENCELIUM control devices typically used in ENCELIUM GreenBus II® architecture. These devices can be used in ENCELIUM wireless installations if the project design warrants the use of these devices.
ENCELIUM wireless control network connects all field devices such as WCM and wireless wallstations with wireless managers. The ENCELIUM wireless system has the following characteristics:
• Automatic assignment node addresses
• Automatic recovery of lost nodes
• Wireless managers are networked together with the via a dedicated LAN (CAT-5, Ethernet cabling), or via the existing tenant network
ENCELIUM Wireless System installation work consists of:
• Installing wireless control modules (WCMs), wireless managers (WMs), wireless sensors & wireless wallstations
• Installing the SSU in appropriate equipment closets
• Installing Sensor Interface Module (SIM), Luminaire Control Module (LCM), etc. if low voltage device connectivity is indicated
• Interconnecting SSU and WMs via CAT-5 data cabling or tenant network
When installing ENCELIUM wireless components, safety precautions, wiring diagrams and installation details shipped with each ENCELIUM LMS component should be followed. Refer to the Product information bulletins and wiring diagrams available on the ENCELIUM website at www.encelium.com/en/technical-information for additional component specific information.

Wireless Control Module (WCM) The OSRAM WCM provides both dimming and switching functions. The WCM connects to the following devices to be controlled by the ENCELIUM® EXTEND
Wireless System:
• Luminaires – Switching, 0 -10V dimming and DALI
• Low-voltage sensors – Connected directly or via SIM
The WCM has an additional GreenBus II® port to facilitate communication with GBII components. The GBII channel can be run a maximum of 20 ft. from the WCM to the compatible GBII equipment. Only one GBII device can be connected a WCM. See WCM Wiring Diagrams and WCM Installation Methods.

ENCELIUM EXTEND Wireless Manager (WM) The ENCELIUM EXTEND Wireless Manager establishes wireless connection and processes data to and from lighting control devices. Each ENCELIUM EXTEND Wireless Manager must be connected to an Ethernet (PoE) Network Switch using standard CAT-5 or greater Ethernet data cabling. In large installations there may be multiple WMs, which can be distributed around the controlled space, such as individual floors of an office building. Each WM must be connected to an Ethernet Network. The WMs are also powered using Power Over Ethernet (PoE). A PoE Network Switch can be used, otherwise a PoE injector must be placed after the network switch.
The WM supports two mounting methods, Ceiling Tile Mount and Wall/Junction Box Mount.
Installation Details Ceiling Tile Mount

System Support Unit (SSU) The OSRAM SSU is the ENCELIUM EXTEND LMS server, which must be interconnected to every ENCELIUM EXTEND Manager. It stores all ENCELIUM LMS configuration data. It downloads system configuration
data to the ENCELIUM EXTEND Manager and stores data received from the ENCELIUM EXTEND Manager. It is typically installed in an IT or communications closet. It requires power from a 120VAC receptacle and one or two CAT-5 data connections. The SSU can be directly connected to a single ENCELIUM EXTEND Manager using a crossover cable or connected to multiple ENCELIUM EXTEND Managers through an Ethernet Switch or the tenant network.
Ethernet Switch An Ethernet data switch is optionally provided based on the ENCELIUM LMS design. An Ethernet switch is required if there are multiple ENCELIUM EXTEND Managers and the tenant network is not going to be used, which is typical.
The maximum recommended cable length is 300’ for the connection between the ENCELIUM EXTEND Manager and Ethernet switch as well as the connection between the SSU and Ethernet switch.
A bracket is provided for mounting the SSU, an ENCELIUM EXTEND Manager and Ethernet switch as required.
Refer to ENCELIUM product information bulletins, wiring diagrams and ENCELIUM project-specific component layout and GreenBus II wiring drawings for wiring details. Product information bulletins and wiring diagrams are available on the ENCELIUM website at www.encelium.com/en/technical-information.
Installation Details
• When installing ENCELIUM® EXTEND LMS components, safety precautions, wiring diagrams and installation details shipped with each ENCELIUM EXTEND LMS component should be followed.
• The SSU requires connection to a 120 VAC receptacle on backup power if available.
• SSU require 1 or 2 CAT-5 data connections.
• If an Ethernet data switch is required, it can be mounted in the same bracket as the SSU.
