LIFE OF THE EARTH DEATH OF THE SUNArt Installation by Director XWeston Family Innovation Centre
LEVEL 6 HOT ZONE
Immerse yourself in this massive multimedia work by Canadian contemporary artist Director X. This installation time travels from Pangaea to an Earth 100,000 years in the future. It illustrates drastic changes that have transformed the planet. The Earth is seen as if from space-a key vantage point for illuminating a state of emergency and the urgency to mitigate human impact on climate change.
This is the second part of a series, following Death of the Sun, which premiered at Nuit Blanche in 2016. This earlier work follows the sun through its life cycle, offering a meditation on our place in the universe. This first piece, portraying the death of the sun that sustains us, is also on display. In partnership with City of Toronto/Nuit Blanche and the Ontario Science Centre
