Auditorium

• Upon entering the Library, you see the entrances to the Auditorium. It is used for speaking engagements, seminars, workshops, political forums, community events, classes and more.

A resource by resource look at the SouthArk Library…

Circulation Desk…

• Library cards…– All you need is a picture ID.– A patron must be at least 16 years old to get a

library card.– It costs $1.00 to replace a lost card.

Circulation Desk• Checking out / renewing

library materials...– Books are checked out for

2 weeks.– Patrons may renew a book

for 2 additional weeks by calling the Library on or before the due date or by bringing the book by the Circulation Desk.

– Patrons may check out a maximum of 5 books at a time.

– Overdue fines are 10¢ per book per day.

Reserve Books and Videos

• Instructors place materials on Reserve. Request Reserved materials at the Circulation Desk.

• Reserved items are for in library use only.

Math Videos

•A collection of math and accounting videos located at the Circulation Desk can be checked out for 24 hours.

•Two viewing rooms are available to watch a video.

•Overdue fine is 50¢ per video per day.

Book Return

• Please feel free to use the book drops as a fast and convenient way to return your books.

• The exterior book drop is located in the front of the library on the street and is used primarily for after hours returns.

• The interior book drop is located at the Circulation Desk.

Copier and Printer

• Copies and printouts cost 10¢ per page.

• Make payments at the Circulation Desk.

New Books

• No trip to the library is complete without a visit to the New Books display. Located to the right of the Circulation Desk, it’s a great opportunity to check out the newest members of our ever expanding collection.

Atlases

• We have a collection of over 20 world, regional, historical and nautical atlases.

• For in-library use only.

Reference Collection

• Our Reference Collection exists for the purpose of supplying a constantly available collection of concrete resources that is intended “to be referred to rather than read through.”

• We subscribe to over 170 magazines. • In-house there are over 35 different magazines

and professional journals specializing in allied health issues.

• There are periodical references for financial, historical, political, scientific, and technological topics.

• And, when you just want to let your brain rest, we have over 30 magazines on entertainment, sports, fishing, hunting, gardening, and more.

Microfiche

• There are 109 periodicals stored on microfiche in our collection representing almost 30 years of journalism.

Viewing Rooms

• Two viewing rooms equipped with a tv, vcr, and dvd player are available upon request. Please see a librarian before entering a viewing room.

Study Area

• There are a number of chairs and tables located around the library for your convenience.

General Collection

• You can search for books in our General Collection by author, subject, or title using the OPACs.

• All of the books in the general collection may be checked out.

Vertical Files

Periodical Indices

• The Alternative Press Index and the Readers’ Guide to Periodical Literature are indices of periodicals that appeal to the general population and are valuable for research.

Paperbacks

• The Paperback Collection includes popular fiction such as, John Grisham, Nelson DeMille, Stephen King, Nora Roberts, and more.

• They may be checked out for two weeks.

Computers

• The public access computers support our online periodical databases; Proquest, EBSCOHost, Newsbank, SIRS, Issues & Controversies, and Facts.com.

• It costs 10¢ per page for computer printing.

OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog)

• The OPAC contains records for all books and media located in the SouthArk Library.

• Any staff member will assist you in using the OPAC.
