Charter Duties to ensure proper safety training/documents are provided (and
available) to staff, students, and visitors. to provide a forum to discuss safety issues. to review (annually) and keep current the LEPP Safety
Handbook. to prepare and keep current all safety documents required by
the University. to assist in implementing campus-wide safety programs
mandated by the University and work with Cornell safety professionals to resolve safety issues at LEPP.
to review safety aspects of new (or significant changes in) large-scale/safety critical experiments/projects/facility modifications.

to provide training for circumstances unique to our Laboratory to participate in safety audits of LEPP operations as required. to conduct annual safety inspections of the entire LEPP and
ensure unsafe conditions/practices are corrected. to respond to safety-related policy and/or compliance
questions. to provide an on-site safety presence at LEPP and serve as a
good example to the community.
