In compliance with provisions of K.S.A. 25-2310, 25-2311(a) (5), 25-2311(d) and K.A.R. 7-23-4, notice is hereby given that the books for registration of voters will be open at the following places at the time speci-fied: For the City Clerk’s offices in Caney, Cherry-vale, Coffeyville, Dearing, Independence, and in the County Clerk’s Office in the Montgomery County Courthouse, Indepen-dence, Kansas during regular business hours. Also accepting voter reg-istration will be the Social Rehabilitation Service Office in Independence, the County Health Department Office in Coffeyville, Driver’s License Bureau in Inde-pendence and the Cof-feyville City Library dur-ing regular business hours and will close for all residents in Montgom-ery County at the close of regular business hours on October 15, 2019. Voter registration will remain closed until the 6th, day of November, 2019 when the books will be open for registration. A citizen of the United States who is 18 years of age or older, or will have attained the age of 18 years at the next elec-tion, must register before he or she can vote. Reg-istration closes 21 days prior to every election. When a voter has been registered according to law, his or her registra-tion shall continue to be valid until one of the fol-lowing occurs:(1) The voter changes name by marriage, divorce or legal proceed-ing.

(2) The voter changes residence.If either of the above has occurred, the voter must re-register. Any person may apply in person or by mail to the county election officer to be reg-istered.
