• The cricket ground is next to the rugby stadium in Headingley

• The club was founded in 1863• The ground is also used for England matches• Some famous players are Fred Truman, Geoffrey

Boycott, Joe Root and Johnny Bairstow• You used to have to be born in Yorkshire to play for

them, but now they allow overseas players• They are the most successful county cricket side,

with over thirty (30!) Championship wins.

Some of us went on a tour around the ground recently and had a training session with a coach – it was great!

The ‘grand depart’ of this year’s Tour de France begins in Leeds this

summer.

Lots of visitors come here for

the SHOPPING!

Leeds has theatres and concert

venues.

It has museums and art galleries.

Leeds also has three

universities.

We love its parks and open spaces.
