Abstract Abstract The fact that every student has their own unique learning style should be understood and addressed by all instructors. This paper describes different learning styles, discusses a range of learning style inventories and research in this area, and analyzes the impact of learning styles on student performance in an American government class. The central purpose is to make professors aware that their students learn differently and to share strategies to address these different needs.
