History of AHRMM

1962 − Begins as the American Society for Hospital Purchasing Agents (ASHPA)

1970 − ASHPA grows to 1,000+ members

1983 − Name changes to the American Society for Hospital Materials Management (ASHMM)

1992 − ASHMM hosts first exhibition in conjunction with the American Hospital Association (AHA)

History of AHRMM

1995 − ASHMM Annual Conference becomes so large that it is independent of the AHA convention

1998 − ASHMM becomes the Association for Healthcare Resource & Materials Management (AHRMM) at its Annual Conference

2001 − April 1, HCRMS ends operations and HCRMS members are welcomed into AHRMM. One, unified voice in the healthcare resource and materials management field is created.

2007 - AHRMM adopted a new mission statement, To Advance Healthcare Through Supply Chain Excellence
