KS3 Summative Assessment schedule for Y9 2016-2017

Students will complete the first two biology, chemistry and physics topics of the Trilogy Combined Science GCSE. Each of these topic has been split into two parts to improve engagement for the students. Each topic mostly is 3 weeks, except for the first part of Organisation which is longer.

Teachers who share classes must communicate with each other and split the topic lessons up in half. If a teacher only has 1 lesson and another has 3, then the main teacher must communicate and decide what the other teach should teach within the topic.

Assessment at the end of each topic, it is a 20 minute test which will be self-assessed by the students.

Teacher will complete 1 yellow per topic and a marking stick for each topic.

Teacher that shares classes 50/50 will do different topics but it will run for the full term.

Teacher that has the class 3 times will inform the teacher who has them once what part of the topic to complete.

Main teacher of a group will make a lesson for the non-science specialist teacher (JT, JC, MTY, SSW).
