1 GeneralTheEasywaveKNXGatewayRGK02(inthefollowingcalledgateway)isaproductoftheKNXsystemandmeetstheKNXguidelines.SufficienttechnicalknowledgeprovidedthroughKNXtrainingcoursesisrequiredforcomprehension.Thefunctionsofthedevicearesoftware-dependent.Fordetailedin-formationaboutthesoftwarethatiscurrentlyavailablefordownload¬andtheresultingfunctionscope,refertothemanufacturer‘sinternetsite.Planning,installationandcommissioningofthegatewaytakesplacewithasoftwarecertifiedbyKNXAssociation.FundamentalknowledgeoftheEasywaveradiosystemisrequiredforoptimumutilisationofthegate-way.Chapter2,„InformationabouttheEasywaveradiosystem“containsimportantinformationtothisrespect.

2 Information about the radio system Easywave

2.1 General information and functionalityWithitsextensiveproductrange,theradiosystem„Easywave“isthecompletesystemforallapplica-tionsinbuildingservicesengineering.The868MHzwavebandwithitsdivisionintosub-bands(e.g.sub-band868.0MHzto868.6MHz)anddifferentdutycyclesisideallysuitedforsophisticatedtasks.IntheISMwaveband(ISM=Indust-rial,Scientific,Medical),transmissiononlytakesplaceforafewhundredmillisecondswithoutputsoflessthan1milliwatt(max.25milliwattposs.).Tobeabletoaddressaradioreceiver,youfirsthavetoteachintheEasywavesendcode.Aftertheteach-inprocess,thereceivercanbeshutoffbythetransmitterorthegateway.ThesendcodeofanEasywavetransmitterhasalengthof32bitandcontainsaserialnumberaswellasakeycode.Theserialnumberservestoidentifythesender.ThekeycodesA,B,CandDareauto-maticallyassignedtothefunctionsofthesetoperatingmodebythereceiver.Independenceontheselectedoperatingmode,theindividualkeycodesofaserialnumberareauto-maticallyassignedreceiverfunctionsuponteach-in.Forexample,onlyoneoffoursendbuttonsmustbeprogrammedwithareceiverforashuttercontrolinordertobeabletousethefunctionsUP/STOP/DOWN.Fordetailedinformationaboutthekeycodesandthereceiver‘sinterpretationofthekeycodes,seetherespectiveinstructionmanuals.

3 Installation and programming

3.1 AssemblyOnlyqualifiedexpertsmaymountandcom-missionthedevice.Thegatewaycanbeinstalledinaflush-mountedsocket,surfacesocketoranyothertypesofhousing.TheelectricityconnectionisrealisedviatheKNXbusvoltageof29VDC.Whenusingthegateway,observethecurrentconsumptionof35mA.

3.2 IntegratingthedatabasefileintheETS5Fundamentalknowledgeoftheengineeringtoolsoftware(ETS)isrequiredtointegratethedatabase.Downloadthefile„RGK02.vd5“fromtheELDATinternetpagewww.eldat.de. (Products Easywave → Interfaces →RGK02)Importthevd5fileintotheETS5softwarevia

3.3 Inserting a gateway into a projectOnceyouhavecreatedthedesiredrangeandlineinthemenu„Topology“,youcanaddthegatewaytotheproject.YouwillfindtheGatewayunderthefollowingcategory:

Alternatively,youcanalsosearchfor„EasywaveGateway“inthesearchline.Double-clickingthegatewayaddsthedevicetothecurrentlyselectedarealineinthecurrentproject.

3.4 Programming the physical address AnunequivocalphysicaladdressmustbeassignedtothenewlycreatedgatewayintheKNXbussys-tem.

1. Selectinthemenu„Topology“theEasywave-Gateway.Clickoninthemenubar „Edit“ →“Download“ .The„Program“windowappears.

2. Toprogramthephysicalgatewayaddress,clickonthebutton„DownloadIndividualAddress“.

3. Theprogrammingprocedurestartsandyouwillbepromptedtopresstheprogrammingbuttonof

thegateway.TheredLEDgoesoffafterapprox.4secondsandthephysicaladdressisnowpro-grammed.

4 Functionen and Object properties

Therearethreetypesofobjects:

System objects ThethreesystemobjectsarerequiredfortheadministrationoftheEasywavesendcodes.KNXprogrammingandassignmentoftheEasywaveradioproductstotheindividualobjects(program-minganddeleting)isdonewiththeETS.

Transmit objectsSendobjectssendanEasywavetelegramfromtheperspectiveoftheKNXgateway.ThetransmissionprocessistriggeredbyKNXsensorsandcontrolsEasywavereceiver.

TRANSMIT OBJECTRGK02

RGK02 receives switching command via the KNX bus.

KNX BUS

Sensor is activated.

Using the group address, a send command is trans-mitted to the RGK02 via the KNX bus.

Receivers can receive the learned telegram and can be controlled via KNX.

RGK02 sends the parameterized Easywave telegram via radio.

5. TheLEDonthegatewaylightsupred.Nowpressthedesiredtransmitter. Oncetheteach-inprocessiscompleted,theLEDgoesoff.

6. Repeatthesestepsforeachadditionaltransmitter.

ATTENTION! Ifyouteachinatransmitterdoubleonamemoryslot(value),thealreadyprogrammedsendcodeisoverwritten.Ifyouteachinthesametransmitterondifferentmemoryslots,thegatewaywillonlyexecutethefunc-tionofthelowestchannel.

4.1.2 Deleting a channel Thesystemobject642servesfordeletingspecificEasywavesendcodes.Directdeletionofasendcodeisinitiatedbysendingthevalueforthememoryslot(1-128)tothecor-respondinggroupobject.

2. Inthedialogue„Group Address“,enterthegroupaddressofthesystemobject„Deletechannel“(e.g.1/1/2).

ATTENTION!Thereisnopromptforconfirmation!Alltransmittersarepermanentlydeleted!Arestorationoftheassignmentisnotpossible.Therefore,onlyassignagroupaddresstoobject643ifyoureallyneeditandthendeletethegroupaddressagain!

4.2 Creating receive objects ThereceiveobjectsservefortheimplementationofEasywaveoperatingmodesintheKNXBus.Alto-gether128memoryslotsareavailableforEasywaveserialnumbers.Thereceiveobjectsaredivided into16groups(EtoT);eachgrouphaseightreceivefunctions.Bydefault,onlythe8receivefunctionsofgroupEareactivated.Ifmorere-ceivefunctionsarerequired,furthergroupsinthemenu„Receivegroups“mustbesetto„Use“.Afterwards,thenewlyselectedreceivegroupisavailableforfunctionassignment.

Thereceivefunctionsarenumberedconsecutively(1to128).Therespectivechannelnumberisper-manentlyassignedtothememoryslotsfortheEasywavesendcodes.Forexample,thefunctionsofreceiveobject4canonlybecontrolledbytheEasywavetransmitterpro-grammedonslot4.ThereceiveobjectscanbeassignedtooneofthefollowingKNXfunctions:

4.3 Creating send objectsThe send objects serve to address Easywave receivers from the KNX bus. Altogether 32 send objects are available in the gateway. Each object can send out an Easywave serial number with up to four different keycodes depending on the selected function.
