Established in 1958, the Knoxville Volunteer Emergency Rescue Squad (KVERS) is a team of professional volunteers specially trained to provide essential emergency rescue services, as well as education and support, to the people of Knox and surrounding counties.

by responding to over1900 calls for assistance ,including….

1450 vehicle accidents,9 vertical rescues,

22 search and support rescues,19 water rescues,6 heavy rescues, 1 animal rescue,

and 458 community and public education events

KVERSOperates on an annual budget

of less than $350,000.00 per year.This budget must be strategically

allocated to maintain the operational expenses of

4 Stations,13 vehicles,

4 boats, 1 ATV

and several hundred pieces of specialized equipment

All of the vehicles and equipmentmust be maintained to the highest

standards so that we can continue to save the lives of the citizens of our

community
