Introducing....

I must step down as King.I shall divide my kingdom into three parts, one for each of my daughters.

King Lear decides to put all of his daughters through a test. Goneril and Regan give flattering answers, but the King’s youngest and favourite daughter, Cordelia, remains silent. The King flies into a rage, and Cordelia is disowned.

Tell me how much you love me!

“I love you more than word can wield the matter...”

“I am alone felicitate in your dear Highness’ love...”

**Silence**

“Here I disclaim all my paternal core to you Cordelia!”

I’m running away to France!

King Lear quickly learns he made a bad decision. Goneril and Regan begin to undermine his authority. Unable to believe his daughters are betraying him, King Lear goes insane and starts wandering about on the heath in a thunderstorm...

Elderly nobleman Gloucester is tricked by his illegitimate son Edmund that his legitimate son, Edgar, is trying to kill him. Edgar flees the manhunt his father has sent for him by disguising himself as an insane beggar. He calls himself “Poor Tom” and heads out onto the heath.

I’m just chillin’ on the heath....

Edgar is going to kill you!Oh no!

Gloucester decides to help King Lear after finding out his daughters were plotting against him. Regan and her husband, Cornwall, discover him helping Lear and accuse him of treason, turning him out into the countryside to roam. He ends up being led by his disguised son, Edgar, towards Dover, where King Lear is also brought.

I must help King Lear. He is in the same situation as me! Horrid children.

Oh no you don’t. Be off with you!

Meanwhile the French Army (led by Cordelia) invade in an attempt to save King Lear. They are defeated by the English Army (led by Edmund). King Lear and Cordelia are captured.

Welcome to Dover!

French Army English Army

Edmund has become romantically entangled with Regan and Goneril whose husband, Albany, is increasingly sympathetic towards King Lear. Goneril and Edmund plot to kill Albany.

I’m a really lovely person, so I’m going to help King Lear.

Not if we kill you first.

Edmund and Edgar duel, and Edmund is killed. Gloucester also dies.

Die! Die! Die!Ouch.

Dead Gloucester.

Goneril poisons Regan out of jealousy over Edmund then kills herself when Albany finds out. Edmund’s betrayal of Cordelia leads to her unnecessary execution in prison.

Drink this!

....uh oh.

Finally, King Lear dies out of grief at Cordelia’s death.

Dead King Lear.

....and they all died happily ever after!
