Summative Assessment— ‘Who we are’
Students brainstormed the vision and mission of Pathways School
Gurgaon through a group discussion
They understood the meaning of the words: Vision and Mission
Taking this forward they came up with vocabulary to create Kinder-
garten’s Vision and Mission statement in their respective classrooms
CAS Initiative : ‘Hand wash Drive’
As a part of their summative assessment, students of kindergarten
took the initiative of spreading awareness about the importance of
hand washing
They collected soaps and distributed it to the school support staff
Skills enhanced : Thinking , logical, communication, self man-
agement skills
Multiple intelligences: Verbal linguistic ,visual spatial and log-
ical mathematical

Creating the “Mission and Vision” by Kindergarten students
The process of creating the mission and vision statement started by discussing and understanding the vision
and mission statement of our school. Later the students brain stormed and came up with vocabulary words
which they thought should be incorporated in the statement. They also reflected on the meaning of vision and
mission by illustrating their own vision and mission.

After the students of all kindergarten sections brain stormed about the vision and mission statement they collec-
tively discussed and came up with the final product– THE VISION AND MISSION STAEMENT OF KINDERGAR-
TEN 2016-17.
CAS initiative by Kindergarten– The students of KG celebrated
the Global Hand wash Day and spread awareness about importance of
washing hands amongst students and support staff of the school

Recapitulation of letters Oo and Uu was done through Jolly

Recapitulation of sounds of ‘O’ and ‘U’
Students were introduced to the concept of measurement by com-
paring size, length, weight and height through various learning en-
gagements
They understood about positions: Left and Right through activities
Formative assessment was done to assess their understanding on
numbers from 1 - 20

Concept of measurement
To introduce the concept of long and short the students were taken for nature
walk where they collected sticks of different sizes. Later in class they segregated
the sticks from longest to shortest.
Similarly for the concept of heavy and light objects were collected from the class
and sorted under the category of heavy and light.
Concept of left and right through ’Hokey Pokey song’ and hand
printing activity
Introduction to letter ‘ द’ through various learning engagements
Vocabulary building was done through mind-map
Students were involved in a group discussion on Festival “Dussehra”
and enjoyed doing a craft activity related to the festival
Writing of the letter ‘ द’ in the notebooks

Learner Profile for the week was ‘Reflective’. Students displayed the learner profile of being reflective by making connections and creating a vision and mission statement for Kindergarten

Music The students: continued practicing pitch variation exercises and vocal warm-up games were introduced to ‘Do Re Mi tapping song’ along with movements were introduced to simple music vocabulary tempo (fast/slow), pitch
(high/low), duration (long/short) and dynamics (loud/soft) played a body tapping game using different tempos began to sing the song ‘Sa se sagar ki lehren’ using different tempos

Students were introduced to the various special keys from the keyboard:

Ctrl
Alt
Delete
They practiced the usage of these keys to switch on and switch off their laptops.
