What are QR Codes? Quick Response (QR) Code is a square matrix barcode • Quick to read with scanners • Can store more data than a traditional
UPC barcode • Can store many types of data:
o Text o Graphics o Websites o Numbers o Contact info etc.
Why The Interest? A recent US Survey in 2012 showed that:
Users loved mobiles
More than 90% of us keep our Cell Phones with in arms reach 24/7 365 days a year. More than 70% of us use our cell phone as alarm clocks. A study by Unisys revealed that if we lose our wallet we report it missing within 26 hours. If we lose our cell phone we report it missing within 68 minutes.
It’s interactive and easy to use
More 90% of users use more than 5 apps per day. More that 90% of users use their smart phone as their camera.
Curiosity
65% of users said they bought a smart phone out of curiosity. More than 90% said they want to play and experiment.
