• Since type I cement requires the least amount of
physical gradation and heating at the cement plant, an
extremely high energy savings is accomplished when
using Kalmatron. The property of Kalmatron
admixture to decay-hydrate cement grains results in a
cement particle size reduction that allows it to replace
Micro-Cements. Mixing Kalmatron into Portland Type
I cement obtains maximum volume of cement particles
with diameter up to 25µ, where dominating median
size is at 5µ to 15µ. The same cement without
Kalmatron has a dominating median size of 40µ - 60µ.

• Kalmatron reduces water in the mix design
by 10-30%, and eliminates the need for
most “curing” as the cement is already
hydrated through speeded hydration.

Reduce Shotcrete Rebound• Kalmatron concrete has excellent adhesion.
• Excellent Adhesion means that you can build higher in
one pass with less rebound (5% or less).

• With Kalmatron in the mix, it is no longer necessary to
add any additional fibers, which have a tendency to
clog the hose.

Extend Workable Life
• As long as Kalmatron is in the mix, and
that mix is kept in motion, the concrete will
remain workable. The latest documented
time is seven (7) hours, (Nicaragua), from
initial mixing to actual pouring on a jobsite.
• The Extended Workable Life greatly
reduces waste from “old concrete” that has
sat in the mixer too long.
Reduced Exothermic Heat• Kalmatron chemically grinds down the cement
and speeds the hydration process.
• The hydration process speeds up because of the decay-hydration reaction which weakens the molecular tensions of water by using positively charged minerals. (This reaction is similar to the function of magnetized water.)
• Kalmatron provides a stable residual magnetic effect. This reaction results in attenuation of exothermic heat by 30-50%. Reduction of exothermic heat has many practical benefits, in addition to being environmentally friendly.

cement ratio of 0.385 – 0.417.

Increased Yield - Details
• Numerous mineralogical sediments become the centers of crystallization of cementitious solutions, with thickening of solutions around those centers…like shells. Kalmatron produces a thickening of the water, or the water-dissolved solutions. Since most of the grains are hydrated and the interporous liquid-vapor is represented by natural mineralogical cementitious solutions, you obtain an ordered porosity in a very homogeneous, cementitious concrete. The speed of colloidation is slow and the entire process may take decades.

dissolved minerals, including free lime, enables this High
Resistant concrete to withstand any type of corrosion.

No Carbon-Dioxide Gases• Gasses are produced during the cement hydration
process. As the gasses are released, they create pores that mark the passage of the gasses through the still-plastic concrete.
• Carbon dioxide is normally produced from Portland concrete, and must build up to a certain “critical mass” before it is able to rise to the surface of the concrete. This results in large, macro pores.
• Kalmatron Portland concrete produces Acetylene gas, which is released as soon as it is formed, resulting in a much smaller gas bubble, and thus smaller, micro pores.
• Normal concrete contains 70% macro pores and 30% micro pores.
• Kalmatron concrete contains approximately 3% macro pores and 97% micro pores, making Kalmatron concrete far more resistant to water ingress.
