THE HOUSE OF PRAyER AND LEARNING
TU GRAZ, Institute of Spatial DesignIrmgard Frank2013
When three completely different cultures meet at one place we have to cement them and consider them to be equal. Regarding the quality, one sacral space is equal to another. The balance of the whole object is ensured by the huge brick walls. The walls of glass bricks let the natural light to come into the sacral spaces. The additional artificial lightning in the interior makes the atmosphere more powerful. Each of the sacral spaces is orientated according to its principe. The church in East-west line, synagogue towards Israel and mosque in direction to Mecca. The facilities are found at the basement beneath the sacral spaces. Thanks to the direct staircase to the central open space it is possible to consider the floor of single sacral spaces to be the equal public space. The mass of the construction completes the whole block of buildings and supports the well defined development of the surroundings.

RECONSTRUCTION OF THE HOUSE
Pavlíkova 7, KlatovyStudio of Ondřej Císler2014
While reconstructing the house dated back to the 17th century with distinct baroque elements we restore the authenticity of the house and give it back its public functionality. People are allowed to pass through the house and stop there or have a rest in a cafe house. On the first floor, there is a notary office and two medical offices. Attic provides living space.

BETWEEN THE TOWN AND THE LANDSCAPEREVITALIZATIOn OF OLD TExTILE FACTORy
CTU, studio VIJan Šépka2013
In cooperation with Magdalena Ježková, Jiří Kabelka, Michal Štěpař
In our project we focused on the site of blocks of flats called Řepky and on the former textile factory that is not utilised in most of its parts any more. The blocks of flats and the factory are both situated on the island made by the Jizera river on one side and by the canal on the other where the local electric power station is situated now. We suggest to open the agricultural school in the factory that specializes on teaching fishing, beekeeping, gardening, hydrology and cooking. We turn down some old objects and situate the school into the former weaving mill, the oldest preserved building in this area. There is a dormitory on the east side of the school and orangeries on the north where classes, storages a parkings are situated. The school and the dormitory are connected by the newly built neck where auditorium, library and reading room are placed. In the central part of the location there is canteen and attached sports hall. Both these buildings are accessible to the students as well as to the public and divide the whole courtyard into two smaller parts. The location is not used in all its parts and the school is supposed to attract new activities to fill up the empty buildings of the factory. In the northern part of the island there is an orchard that will be used for educational and research purposes as well as an area for recreation. In between the area of blocks of flats and the site of the factory there is an artificial canal wide at about ten meters. Together with smaller canals that come out of the main one they create the water grid. Canals are used for watering the fields and as biotope for plants and animals. Canals also naturally define the public and nonpublic space. There are school fields in between the canals, summer restaurant and barbecue places, children ground and rest places as well as water tanks for breading fish. Some fields are lent to those people who are interested in planting and gardening. We design new salesroom and smaller commercial rooms and covered outdoor market there. Fruit and vegetable grown by the students are sold there as well as the other products.

MALTHOUSE AND BREWERy
CTU, studio VPetr Hájek - Jaroslav Hulín2012
Awarded studio – Olověný Dušan 2012 (School competition)nominated project – Olověný Dušan 2012 (School competition)
More than a half of the malt production of the Czech Republic is exported to the foreign countries. Less then twenty percent of the exported malt is transported by the ships to the overseas countries. The Zbraslav quarry has a great disposition to be a port.A cargo ship transports in the containers malt produced in the Zbraslav malthouse to the jetty ports on the Elbe river. On its way back, barley is bought to be manufactured into malt in the malthouse. The whole process is repeated.Besides, there are also a brewery and a pub connected with the malthouse, that meet the demand of a the newly arising town in the revitalized Zbraslav quarry.

WOODEN HOUSE
CTU, studio IVOndřej Císler2012
awarded studio – Summer Olověný Dušan 2012 (School competition)
Accommodation at a busy place in a house made of wood provide people with higher standard of living similar to the one in surrounding houses. All apartments have access from built-on galleries, spacious balcony and parking place. The whole block of houses and parkings are based on ferroconcrete plinth that has a function of an access to the staircases. Wooden columns and beams are weighted with ferroconcrete panels. The statics of the whole building is secured with the ferroconcrete lift core. The finishing of the block of flats sets up the interconnection between Bubeneč and Hradčany.

ECUMENICAL CHAPEL
CTU, studio IIJan Hlavín - Miloslav Čejka2011
There was an intention to design construction in the greatest harmony of materials that at the same time affect people to be still and in high spirit. The construction is not only chapel but also place where you can have a rest. The space of the chapel is created by the cube with the cuboid inside where lavatories and facilities are situated. The chapel is made of monolithic concrete where glass cylinders are set in. Cylinders allow the chapel to be lit. The walls are covered with soots as the chapel is regularly sensed. Each visitor can fine-tune the atmosphere by spreading soots on cylinders by small rags.

TRAINING IN CONSTRUCTIONPLACES WHERE WE STOP
CTU, studio IJan Hlavín - Miloslav Čejka2010
Make a design and the construction that allows to curry as big weight as possible in proportion to its size.
Crossroads and road junctions arise where routes and paths, alleys and trials intersect. People have always meet there. Thanks to their meetings different points of interests have arose. I decided to create the meeting point, because meeting with other people most influence our society.
