Summary of EcoCoLIFE project at Flanders Moss

• Helped to join up and restore bog habitat,

• Locking up carbon by rewetting peat,

• Allowing more carbon to be taken from atmosphere,

• Slowing the flow of water off the moss for natural flood risk management,

• Gave chance to try innovative techniques – wood chip dams, stump

flipping, deep trench bunding,

• And this new technique – training dogs for scrub removal.
