PAGE 2 – 0139 SEVENTH SUNDAY OF EASTER ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, On the days between the Ascension of Our Lord and Pentecost Sunday, the Early Church prayed the first novena.
Gathered in the Upper Room, the Apostles and Disciples of Jesus gathered in prayer with the Blessed Mother, awaiting the promised Gift of the Holy Spirit. On these days, we continue that tradition of praying to the Holy Spirit that we will have a greater appreciation for the gifts which we received at Confirmation. Great gifts have been given to us that we will be vibrant witnesses to Jesus. As we prepare for the Solemnity of Pentecost, let us pray that these gifts will be reawakened in us all. I am happy to announce that a seminarian has been assigned to us for summer intern-ship. Mr. Patrick Thorp is entering Pre-Theology II at Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary. Although he is a member of Saint Mary Parish in Schwenksville, Mr. Thorp grew up in Saint Albert the Great Parish and lived here from 1988 until 2003. We look forward to having him with us. God willing, we all will be together soon and our parishioners can welcome him in person. He will be assigned to our Parish from June 6 through August 2. Please pray for Mr. Thorp and for all of our seminarians. This is Memorial Day weekend, the official beginning to summer. After these trying days of quarantine due to the coronavirus, the days of summer hopefully will bring a new be-ginning to everyone. Nevertheless, we cannot forget that Memorial Day is a solemn day, an occasion to remember the brave men and women, our fallen heroes, who made the ultimate sacrifice to defend our nation in the cause of liberty and justice. We must never forget their sacrifice, and we always must remember to pray for our men and women in the armed forces, and, in this time of pandemic, all who courageously serve the sick and suffering in our world. May God bless all with good health and peace! Sincerely yours in Christ, Monsignor Duncan

My name is Robert Lewcun and I am a 2018 graduate of St. Albert the Great School and also a Boy Scout with Troop 97 in Bryn Athyn. Ever since I became a Cub Scout, I knew that I wanted to use my Eagle Scout Project to help people and make a difference at St. Albert’s. I met with
Msgr. Duncan last summer to discuss building a Rosary Garden in the yard behind the Rectory to provide a space to honor our Blessed Mother and to allow students and parishioners an opportunity to pray the Rosary in a peaceful and beautiful setting. Last October, with Msgr. Duncan’s approval, I as-sembled a team of friends and fellow scouts, along with a professional landscaper who provided con-sultation and materials, to prepare the space by lev-eling off the area with top soil and reseed it. I paid for the initial work and materials myself, but I will need your help to make this vision a reality. To complete the Rosary Garden, I will need to pur-chase pavers, benches, a large cross, a statue of the Blessed Mother, and panels representing each of the Mysteries of the Rosary, and I am hoping to com-plete the Rosary Garden this summer. May I please count on your financial support to help purchase these items so that we can complete this project? Any donation amount will be greatly appreciated. If you would like to make a larger contribution of $100 or more, your name will be printed on a thank you plaque placed in the Rosary Garden. Please complete the form below and send to the Rectory Office, along with your contribution in an envelope marked “Rosary Garden Donation”, c/o Robert Lewcun. Thank you very much in advance for your assistance! ROSARY GARDEN DONATION, c/o Robert Lewcun (Please deliver to the Rectory Of-fice) Please make checks payable to “Robert Lew-cun, Rosary Garden”

Emergency Relief Fund As our Emergency Relief Fund (ERF) continues to re-ceive requests for help from our local food pantries, we
have been so fortunate to also receive continued support of this fund. To date, the ERF has raised al-most $234,000 - all of which goes directly to these food pantries in need. We couldn't provide this sup-port without all of you. Thank you so much for step-ping in to help your brothers and sisters in need! In just a few short weeks, the funds distributed to these food pantries to aid in their increased client volume will be depleted. These pantry sites still need our help feeding thousands of individuals and families per week. Together, we can ensure they are support-ed throughout COVID-19. We're working to spread the word about CFGP and our emergency fund, but we need your help! We encourage you to share the below media with friends and family to help them get to know CFGP and the work we're doing to re-spond to COVID-19. To donate to the ERF, please visit www.TheCFGP.org/ERF.

St. John’s Hospice – A deep and heartfelt Thanks to all who were able to contribute to the monthly collection for St. John’s Hospice last month. These are very unusual and challenging times and, as a result, the need is even greater than ever. Your help
and ongoing support is more deeply appreciated than you know. If at all possible, please consider preparing a cas-serole or donating other prepackaged food items, men’s clothing, or travel-sized toiletries including disposable razors and non-alcohol-based liquid items. Food and other donations can be brought to the “freezer room” in the cafeteria as usual. There is a sign-in sheet on the wall near St. John’s chest freezer. The doors will be open each weekday until around 3 p.m. while staff are on site. Donations will be gratefully collected on Tuesday, May 26. Please call Penny Sienkiewicz at 215-676-5757 if you have any questions. God Bless and Stay Well!
