Academic Research

1996 - Very old, Wikipedia, brief description of a book.

2001 - Still quite old. Questions whether anime should be considered as art or just a sociological phenomenon. Also explores the apocalyptic themes in Japanese film/animation.

2003 - Slightly newer. Discusses differences between Western and Japanese animation. The latter intending to provide for all ages, not just children. Also that the Japanese were not creating animations for the purpose of overseas sales – only for themselves and about their culture and society.

Were no results of that exact book

Searched just her name for any other material she might

haveNewer material

Similar discussions to the book by P. Drazen:-the appeal of anime internationally -and comparison of awareness.

2010 - Newest but not relevant to the actual animation, more to voices.

2008 - Quite new, giving a history of Japanese animation, more about storylines rather than visuals though.
