Disaster Recovery Considerations
• Important to back up
integration servers
− Minimal information
− Can be backed up
daily/weekly
• Entire server can be
backed up
• DR domain must match
production domain

Virtual Server Recovery (VSR)• Customer servers are restored, in their entirety, exactly
like they are in their production environment.
• Servers remain on the customer’s domain, and can be
visible to the customer’s network. (Comms are required.)
• Restored servers can communicate with
Centurion servers and workstations via routes
and secondary IPs.

• Branch/Secondary Recovery Site Communications:– jConnect + CDJ Pathway (cannot be used for VSR)
– SSL VPN (VSR default)
• CELR VSR contracts include 2 SSL VPN connections…But is that enough?
• Customers can choose to send a preconfigured device to reside in Branson (Customer Managed VPN)
Communication is Key!

• Xperience™ is not like other JHA products. It must be treated like a domain controller or exchange server.
• Local virtual server replication may not be enough.– How far away is the secondary site from the primary?
– Do you have communications from the secondary site to your DR Site and to Jack Henry?
– Do you have resources to run your entire environment?
– Are you protecting your Active Directory and the SQL databases used by Xperience™ and jXchange™?
– Can you perform a “bubble” test?
