Is the Sky Really the Limit?
Money in the CloudEstimated savings for U.S. federal
government between 2011 and 2014 was $3.6 billion, as a result of data center
consolidation and cloud computing initiatives.
In 2019, larger companies will be the biggest consumers of public cloud services, with
projected spending of about $80 billion. On the other hand, smaller and medium-sized
businesses will contribute 40% to the public cloud services spending total.
Throughout 2016, private cloud infrastructure spending will be up 11.1%,
while public cloud spending will be up 14.1%. Conversely, data centers will fall 4%.

Cloud Services MarketThe International Data Corporation’s "Worldwide Semiannual Public Cloud Services Spending Guide" indicates public cloud services spending will expand at a 19.4% compound annual growth rate – almost six times the rate of overall IT spending growth.
Revenue from worldwide public IT cloud services are estimated to reach $127 billion by 2018, with emerging markets responsible for 21% ofthat number.

Softwares, Platforms, andInfrastructures as ServicesSpending on SaaS and PaaS combined is expected to be $12 billion in 2016, growing to $55 billion in 2026. In addition, at five-year compound average growth rates, spending on IaaS, the highest growth segment in the public cloud forecast, will grow 27%.

Future SpendingCloud computing funding is estimated to grow 19.4% from 2015 to 2019. In 2015, spending on cloud computing was $70 billion and it is expected to reach $141 billion in the year 2019. Companies are growing using the cloud while cutting costs.
