HOW IS CO-CURRICULUM DIFFERENT FROM CURRICULUM?

Definitions

1. Ko-kurikulm adalah “kegiatan kumpulan” (Warta Kerajaan, 1967)

2. Kokurikulum…satu saluran pembelajaran..terancang…lanjutan daripada proses P&P di bilik darjah….dapat menyediakan peluang kepada pelajar untuk menambah, mengukuh dan mengamalkan pengetahuan dan nilai-nilai dipelajari di bilik darjah (Buku Penerangan KBSM, 1992)

Definitions

3. Kegiatan/aktiviti selain m/pelajaran dalam bilik darjah tetapi yang dianggap sebahagian daripada kursus pendidikan (persatuan, sukan dan lain lain) (Kamus Dewan, 2002)

4. Bidang pengajian luar bilik darjah atau yang tidak formal (DBP, 1984).

• Kokurikulum adalah sebahagian daripada Kurikulum Kebangsaan (Kurikulum Kebangsaan , 1997)

• So, involving in co-curricular activities is important.

• Students’ involvements are compulsory. Hence, their presence MUST be RECORDED (Surat Pekeliling Ikhtisas, 1986).

• Reform, Forms 1-3 & 6 180 mins/week

• Forms 4 and 5 180 mins/weekSastera/Perdagangan/SRT

• Forms 4 and 5 Science/ 140 mins/weekAgriculture
