Writing Roman Numerals

Resources: Flash Cards, roman numerals, alphabets (I, V, X, L, C, D, M)

Methodology:*Introduce the topic and share the objective.*Explain Roman & Arabic numerals to the students .*1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7…. these are called Arabic numerals.*Roman numerals are a number system belonging to ancient Rome. It is made up of some letters of the English Alphabets. *The roman used 7 letters to show the numbers. .(I,V,X,L C,D,M)

Success Criteria:Recognize and use Roman numerals correctly. Place a smaller number before a bigger number to mean subtraction in Roman Numerals.Place a smaller number after a bigger number to mean addition in Roman Numerals.

Assessment Plan:Direct questioning will be used to involve some of the quieter students and assess the learning. More related activities and worksheets for assessment plan.

For activity make flash cards of letter I , V and X

C.W:Students write Roman and Arabic numerals 1-10 in

notebooks.
