Objectives of the Study
The primary objective of the project report is to fulfill the partial requirements of the MBA program. The secondary purpose is to review on general banking, investment and the business performances of IBBL. The main objectives are in the following points.
o To examine the different operations of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited.

o To review the investment proposal, appraisal and documentation of IBBL.
o To review the investment mechanism and products in the different modes of IBBL.
o To review the Remittance Operation of IBBL. o To recommend some actions needed in the
future strategic planning of IBBL.
Methodology of the Study
The study included some steps one by one. Firstly, a topic of the project report was selected during the internship program of IBTRA. Secondly, a practical place in IBBL at IDB Bhaban Branch was selected. Finally, the project report was prepared on analyzing the data. The methodology of the study is described in terms of the following contexts:
1) Information to be obtained
2) Field work or Sources of Information
3) Data analysis and presentation and
4) Findings

The information was originated from IBBL at IDB Bhaban Branch during the internship program of IBTRA.

The Method of information collection was completed from the two sources (primary and secondary or historical sources).

There are some findings of the study and conclusion with recommendations which are based on the findings of the study.

There are the following some critical observations where IBBL needs to focus on to improve in the future administrative levels and financial services:

1) Strategic Planning • Branch Managers depended and waited for a long time on the
critical situations where the new different decisions came from the corporate office of IBBL.
• Operational Managers of IBBL had no direct participation to share in their practical problems to the top levels immediately.
• Many Officers of IBBL always felt more than one boss to obey in their branches.

2) Business Strategies in Investment
• IBBL has passed away many years in the banking sector of Bangladesh since 1983. Here, some people think that it is never be possible of the Banking in Islamic ways. Moreover, they found no difference between IBBL and any conventional bank. So, they came to IBBL and went back to other conventional Banks.
• IBBL cannot invest the permissible part of its statutory liquidity reserve and short Term liquidity.
• IBBL always tried to avoid investment to some sectors because of prohibition by the Islamic regulations.

3) Marketing Strategies
• IBBL never encourages all new investment portfolios of the businesses.
• There are insufficient centers to handle the demands of all clients.
• There is no strong promotional program or activity advertising policy.
• There is no infrastructure that can fit in the International Islamic Business.
• There is a little scope to female entrepreneurs to share or invest.
• IBBL lacks in some modern innovations like cash card and credit card system.

4) Human Resources Management
• Talent searching process of IBBL is not a quick process as online test.• Some inefficient persons will be unusable in very soon.• There is a lack in well-trained human resources in some branches of
IBBL.• Some investments were hampered due to misbehavior of the officers
of IBBL.• There are not enough resourceful personals to fit in Islamic trade
financing.

5) National Level Policies • Bangladesh has no special share market for Islamic business
operations.
• Bangladesh has no Independent National Institution (having members of outsider of Islamic Banks) to guide on the business principles of Islam.
