In addition to completing their Doctorate in
Veterinary Medicine, Board-certified Veterinary
Specialists have completed an additional 3-5
years internship and residency training in their
specialized field and must pass rigorous
examinations to achieve diplomat status from
the American College of Veterinary Internal
Medicine. The ACVIM is the international
certifying organization for small animal internal
medicine and other specialists (www.acvim.org).

UW Veterinary Care provides state of the art equipment for:

the stomach and esophagus

24 hour Critical Care Unit
Blood and plasma transfusions, oxygen therapy,
pain medications, nutritional support, EKG, blood
pressure, & fluid therapy.
Continuous renal replacement therapy for kidney
injuries and toxic exposure.
