Classes & Season Schedule• Spring– April through June

• Summer– July & August

• Fall– September through November

Spring Schedule• Sign-ups go live as soon as schedule is final

– Create an account: www.signupgenius.com– Limit 2 Sign-ups per Instructor for 2 weeks– Unlimited sign-ups thereafter

• City Cycling for Instructors– I will teach, you will be students!– Tues-Thurs, March 25-27, from 6pm to 7:30pm

• Instructor Happy Hour, Friday 4/4 @ 5:30pm• First class: Saturday, April 5th

• Last class: Sunday, June 15th

Adult Learn to Ride• For Non-cyclists only

• 75% (or better) success rate• National media attention

• 594 people on “waitlist” as of today

City Cycling• For cyclists of any skill level

• Two separate “tracks” in every class:• Intro to City Cycling• Confident City Cycling

All Classes• 3.5 hours of Instructor time

• Subsidized, $10 placeholder fee• 5:1 Student:Instructor ratio

• Be on-time & ready to teach (not parking, changing, eating, etc.)

• Be professional in speech, attitude, and dress• Be prepared with a working bike, helmet, & any gear, food, etc.

Things to Avoid?• Jargon

– Use a context that novice cyclists can understand and relate to• Spandex/Lycra

– Yes, it has its place. Demonstrate that bicycling can be “normal” and normalize the way we bike

• Scaring students– Emphasize positive aspects (especially for trails students)– Save the “risk” and “crash” conversations for later– We bike because it’s fun and convenient so communicate it that

way
