INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Inspection of Shipment
After unpacking, check thoroughly for any damage which may have occurred in transit. Claims
should be filed immediately with the transportation company. The warranty does not cover
damage that occurs in transit, or damage caused by abuse, or consequential damage due to the
operation of this machine, since it is beyond our control.
Setup
Your new Countertop BIB Dispenser is completely assembled and tested at the factory. Remove
all packaging and tape before starting operation.
Electrical Requirements
The following power supply must be provided:
2499A: 120 Volts, 325 Watts, 60 Hertz.
DANGER Machine must be properly grounded to prevent electrical shock to personnel. Failure to do so could result in serious injury, or death.
Do NOT immerse any part of this equipment in water.
Do NOT use excessive water when cleaning.
Keep cord and plug off the ground and away from moisture.
Always unplug the equipment before cleaning or servicing.
Your electrician must furnish sufficient power for proper machine operation. We recommend
this equipment be on a dedicated and protected circuit. Failure to wire properly will void the
warranty and may result in damage to the machine. It is Gold Medal Products Co.’s recommendation
that this machine be plugged directly into a wall outlet. The use of extension cords is not
recommended due to safety concerns, and may cause sacrificed and/or reduced performance.
Before You Plug In Machine
1. Make sure all machine switches are in the OFF position before plugging the equipment
into the receptacle.
2. Make sure the wall outlet can accept the grounded plugs (where applicable) on the
power supply cord.
3. The wall outlet must have the proper polarity. If in doubt, have a competent
electrician inspect the outlet and correct if necessary.
4. DO NOT use a grounded to un-grounded receptacle adapter (where applicable).
5. Install the unit in a level position.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Controls and Their Functions
POWER SWITCH
This is a three position rocker switch. “Center” position is OFF.
“Up” position is HEAT & LIGHTS. “Down” position HEAT, LIGHTS, & DISPENSE.
TIMED SWITCH (Photo-eye Only)
There are two modes selectable by the Timed Switch. In either mode, there is a short
delay (approximately 0.5 seconds) after the popcorn is present before the pump is
started.
Note: When switching between Timed and Not Timed Modes the unit must be powered
OFF for the mode change to take effect.
Timed Mode – The Photo-eye detects a cup of popcorn and the pump is turned on for a
pre-determined length of time (settable from 3.0 to 9.4 seconds). See below for adjusting
the Pump Speed/Dispense Time.
Note: The pump will stop if the popcorn is removed prematurely (if the popcorn
is brought back within one second, the timer will resume and finish the
timing period).
Not Timed Mode – The pump will run continuously as long as the Photo-eye is
detecting a cup of popcorn.
PUMP SPEED ADJUSTMENT
Turning this adjustment “Clockwise” (using a small flat screwdriver) increases the pump
rate for dispensing butter. “Counter-clockwise” decreases the pump rate (full counter-
clockwise is the slowest it will run).
DISPENSE TIME ADJUSTMENT
Turning this adjustment “Clockwise” (using a small flat screwdriver) increases the time
butter dispenses. “Counter-clockwise” decreases the dispense time (full counter-
clockwise is the slowest it will run).
PUSH BUTTON PUMP SWITCH
Pressing and holding this button dispenses butter flavored topping. Releasing the button
stops dispensing the topping.
Note: Once the Push Button Pump Switch is activated, the Photo-eye quits working.
When the popcorn leaves the photo-eye’s detection area, the photo-eye becomes
active again.
AMBER PILOT LIGHT
The amber light signals the Photo-eye is active and after a slight delay the pump will start.

PHOTO-EYE SENSOR
Photo-eye detects popcorn within about 5 inches of the sensor. The Amber Indicator Light
will be lit indicating popcorn is present.
Note: When wiping off the unit, shiny objects such as a watch can activate the Photo-eye
at distances greater than 5 inches.

Operating the Counter BIB Dispenser
1. Turn the Power Switch to the “Up” (HEAT & LIGHTS) position for about one hour to allow
the topping to warm. The pump is de-activated in this position.
2. After topping is warmed, turn the Power Switch to the “Down” (HEAT, LIGHTS, &
DISPENSE) position.
If this is the first time the unit has been used, it may take a few seconds to completely fill
the tube and dispense topping.
3. Insert the cup of popcorn into the Countertop Dispenser and raise it up to activate the
photo-eye and start dispensing topping.
4. When finished dispensing, lower the cup, and then remove it from the unit.

CARE AND CLEANING
Sanitizing Instructions
Model 2499A is all stainless steel construction, and is designed for easy cleaning. Follow the

Sanitizing the Internal Parts (Tubing, Pump, Etc.)
Gold Medal Products Co. recommends pumping sanitizer through the system nightly to clean
pumps and topping lines.
DANGER Machine must be properly grounded to prevent electrical shock to personnel. DO NOT immerse in water. Always unplug the equipment before cleaning or servicing.
