Introduction.

• After the end of World War II the situations in some countries were critical, this inspired many people to want independence, countries like: Pakistan, Israel, Vietnam and India. India is kind of a peninsula with the Arabian Sea to the west, the Indian Ocean to the south and the Bay of Bengal to the east. The people from this country were under the power of the British, who were mean, and racist with the natives. They were believed to be inferior just because they weren’t white, so some of the British treated them like animals and didn’t grant them with the rights they were worthy of receiving.

• Picture this; a country that is now filled with culture, tradition, history and pure beauty was once a murky hellhole full of hate and slowly being consumed by the coruscating flames of vengeance; it is hard to believe, but it is quite true. You might think that only a miracle could have saved this people from the darkness of hate, well, maybe a miracle in a human-shaped version.

Gandhi

• His name was Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi; he was the leader of the Indian Independence movement. He was sent to jail a couple of times because he wanted India to be free, his wife died in jail and he did some fasting in it, but when he got out he still made protests , he even launched a movement called “Quit India civil disobedience” that sent him to jail again for a few more years. He came up with the idea of non-violent resistance which means, trying to accomplish political goals through symbolical protests and civil disobedience (not obeying certain laws your government imposes).

My conclusions

• I really admire Gandhi for everything he did; He was a man who was able to think out-of-the-box, he always stood up for what he believed in and was extremely brave, so brave he didn’t care about consequences; He was also very outgoing, determined and a world class leader. I wish there could be more people in the world like Gandhi, that way the world would be a much better place, but everything is possible and we can learn how to be like him. Just by saying an inspiring message you can change a person, and that person can change another person, and the cycle never ends. There is nothing more beautiful than the human inspiration and I think that was Gandhi’s more powerful weapon. Our final goal is to get world peace, exterminate those twisted thoughts of racism, do some soul-searching and really discover who we are and what we are doing here; we need to begin to difference right from wrong, and right from easy; we have to take care of our actions because what we do affects everyone around us and we can’t be selfish forever. Life is too short for regrets and lies, but long enough to dream and make a change.
