In Loving Memory
Irene M. Fredriksen1926 - 2021
If you had only seen yourselfThe way we always do
You’d see the special womanWe’ve admired our whole life through
Our wise and caring mother, grandmother, sister, aunt,
Guiding light and special friend
Whose love was such a blessingWhose devotion knew no end
If you had only seen yourselfthe way we always do
You’d know why we’re convincedThat we share heaven’s point of view
Believing your’re amongThe greatest gifts the world has known
As the truly loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend
We’ve been blessed to call our own.
The greatest gift she gave her childrenwas the honor to call her
“Mom”
Irene was born on July 3, 1926 in West Bend, IA to Howard and Emaline (Walsh) Jergens. Irene was raised and educated in West Bend and graduated from DMT in Rolfe in 1944. She was the oldest of 11 children. Irene was united in marriage to Lawrence Frederiksen on February 8, 1947 in Livermore, IA. The couple established their home on a farm in Bradgate raising 5 children. The couple moved to West Bend after retiring in 1994. Lawrence and Irene enjoyed dancing, fishing and traveling, but what Irene enjoyed the most, was spending time with her family and her friends. Her door was always open, and the coffee pot was always on. Irene was a wonderful, funny, gracious and loving mother to her children and so many others who said she was like a mom to them. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in West Bend, IA and the Bradgate VFW Auxiliary. Irene passed away from complications due to a stroke at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona, IA. Left to cherish Irene’s memory are her 5 children, Linda (Bill) Stamper of Independence, IA, Denny (Toni) Frederiksen of Gilmore City, IA, Wanda Frederiksen of Mankato, MN, Sandy (Marv) Kohlhaas of West Bend, IA, and Kris (John) Rasmussen of Algona, IA and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and her siblings, Marge Schmidt of Emmetsburg, IA, Dale (Pam) Jergens of Guntersville, AL, Putter (Darlene) Jergens of Gilmore City, IA, Helen (Jim) Carrigan of Emmetsburg, IA, Janet (Larry) Bruggeman of Hoskins, NE, Joe Jergens of Waterloo, IA and numerous others who lives she touched.
