« Vintage Decor | Egyptian Wedding Inspiration » Holiday Tea Colette of La Fete Weddings put a beautiful Holiday Tea Party together with her daughter, Kaitlin. This has been a family tradition in the Lopez family and this year they shared the photos with us! What touched us most is that Colette's own grandmother's china was used on the tables, who would be 110 this year. Are you planning a winter wedding? Perhaps a winter tea party would be perfect for your bridal shower! Colette also offered the idea of putting on a tea party for the 'moms' to meet for the very first time :) Or, maybe you just were married, how about a tea party to thank your bridal party for all their support? There is always an excuse to throw a party, we think :) Wedding vendors involved include: Design and Coordination: La Fete Weddings Paper Pretties: Lazaro Design Photography: Melissa Musgrove Photography Table Set Up: Classic Party Rentals Flowers: Cody Floral Design Table Linens: La Tavola Chair Rosettes: BBJ Linen

Extreme Makeover - La Fete Weddings Edition Posted on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at 4:43AM Weddings are kind of like the big bang theory in reverse... you're taking tons of different elements, family dynamics, tastes, opinions, vendors, conflicting schedules, and moving pieces... then you try and cram them into one day. It can feel like more energy than the universe can contain... What do you do when every piece fits except one? What if the missing piece is your venue? Whether it's a budget thing, a schedule thing, or some other variable that keeps you from the perfect place, don't fret. With the help of the right people, you can overcome anything. Colette of La Fete Weddings {you'll remember her incredible work from Barbara and Azad's Real Wedding} submitted the perfect case study of taking a space and completely transforming it. Here is the space in its original incarnation as a Library at The University Club in downtown Santa Barbara. I'm gonna let Colette take it from here on her inspiration and execution that took it from this:
Extreme Makeover - La Fete Weddings Edition Posted on Tuesday, May 11, From Colette: [La Fete Weddings] were asked to participate in a Santa Barbara Wedding Couture Bridal Show in March. I was also speaking that day on "Branding your Wedding from Start to Finish". Our space was the library which you saw in our beginning photo. I wanted to create an environment that was warm, cozy and inviting. I wanted it to feel like a room where you could relax and have great refreshments and conversation. We branded our theme through colors of taupe, french blue, and soft pastels of corals and pinks, and brought in vintage furniture to set the mood. We created a pretty table top, a stenciled cake, fabric and the lighting on the walls gave the room a feeling of candlelight, the invitations from Lazaro Press, menus and pretty favors also were inspired with an elegant vintage theme. I made the candle chandelier from an iron piece I found at Ross in their housewares department. It looked very pretty over the table... It was so fun to see it all come together. Melissa Musgrove shot the beautiful images. Cody Floral Design did our flowers for us. The ice sculptures by Images in Ice were done as a pretty statement that could be used as your escort card table centerpiece. The rentals were provided by Town and Country Rentals as well as a new vintage rentals company called Found. The linens were La Tavola Linens and the cake was created by Christine Dahl Pastries. We served the cake and also delicious cupcakes made by Enjoy Cupcakes.
Santa Barbara Style: Chocolate and Roses Nov 29th, 2010 | Liane Leave a comment | Trackback
Photography: Melissa Musgrove Floral, Event Design/Styling : Mindy Rice Wedding Cake: Montecito Confections Lighting/Fabric: Ambient Event Design Invitation/Menus/Place cards: Lazaro Press & Design Specialty Linens: La Tavola Linen This drool-worthy event design was created for a large showcase event at the Santa Barbara Polo Club produced by Colette Lopez of La Fete Weddings. I just love this design by Mindy Rice as inspiration for this transition from fall to winter. The rich, warm chocolate browns and gold are the perfect hint of fall, while the glistening mercury glass adds a bright and festive light to this romantic table, dripping in full-bloom garden roses. The elegantly set table top is the perfect counterpoint to the rustic hanging lanterns and faux ceiling of delicately woven twigs. At each place setting is a menu/place card, backed and wrapped with coordinating linen fabrics. The decadent five-tiered cake is covered in chocolate fondant, delicately hand-painted with white chocolate, and wrapped in gold ribbons. Just as the cake is wrapped in chocolate the entire room was draped in panels of rich chocolate-colored taffeta to create a warm an intimate space. Absolutely gorgeous and so utterly Santa Barbara wedding style.

“Colette believes in love and it
shows in the celebrations she
designs. The event will be
memorable. I’ll be working with
the best talent.
I will be on a balanced and
realistic timeline that will stay on
point. It will appear effortless
because everything will run
smoothly as planned. Not only
will the guests love the event
design, but it will be a
photographer’s dream. You can
count on every detail of the event
design being fabulous.
Colette works with and is always on the lookout for the best talent
available. The colors and details with the linens, china, florals, etc…
will be creative and unique, an honest reflection of the couple’s
desires and personalities. One of her stand out talents is that she
understands the composition and placement of an event space. She’ll
use this skill to the best advantage of “party flow,” this is essential at
an estate or home party.”

organization, forethought
and confidence that

error. Her events are

Interview with Rayce PR & Lifestyles:
When Colette Lopez founded La Fete Weddings,
it seemed the natural evolution of the things she
truly loved: design, events, and, well, love. Years
later, her daughter has joined her and their
chemistry sings a match made in heaven. The
mother-daughter team laugh together, shop
together, work together and seem so closely
connected that they finish each other’s
sentences- jumping in excitedly when talk turns to
design and inspiration. It is, after all, their
specialty.
When Colette took a few minutes to chat with
Rayce PR , about just why this works so well, “we
just click” she began “we love doing things
together. We have a great time shopping and
bouncing ideas around.” I think we can all agree
that whether you’re a bride choosing a planner or
a planner choosing an associate having someone
who shares your vision and goals is vitally
important. With Kaitlin, she found that. The fact
that Kaitlin is her daughter really just made a
wonderful combination all the more rewarding.
Their goal is the same: to design beautiful events,
masterfully executed, to build relationships with
their clients that last far beyond the wedding day.
The wedding day is but the beginning of a couple’s
new life together and that journey includes so
many milestones and momentous occasions over
the years. For many couples that journey includes
growing a family.
As Colette puts it, the relationships that they build
with the couples over the time they spend planning
the day of their dreams is hopefully only the
beginning. “We genuinely enjoy the couples that
we work with so much that they become almost
like a part of this wonderful extended family that
we have.” and as time passes and a couple has
“new additions” to their family, it seems only fitting
that La Fete be there to create those special days
as well.
La Fete would like to thank all of the
extremely hard working and truly exceptional
professionals we work with. You always go
above and beyond to make our events
spectacular and make our job such a pleasure.
We would also like to thank Rayce PR
for creating this one-of-a-kind website. Your
dedication and extreme patience has not gone
unnoticed. We could not be more thankful for
your hard work to capture every single vision we
had in mind.
