The Ayrshire cattle are a breed ofdairycattle originated from Ayrshire in Scotland.
The average mature Ayrshire cow weighs 1000-1300 pounds (450-600 kg). They are
known for low somatic cell counts, ability to convert grass into milk efficiently, and
hardiness. The breed was also known as Dunlop cattle or Cunninghame cattle.
Ayrshires are medium-sized cattle weighing over 1200 pounds at maturity. They arestrong, rugged cattle that adapt to all management systems including group
handling on dairy farms with free stalls and milking parlors. Ayrshires excel in udder
conformation and are not subject to excessive foot and leg problems. The actual
average of all Ayrshires on official ABA programs in 2002 is 17,230 pounds of milk
with 665 pounds of fat and 542 pounds of protein.

The Asil or Aseel is a breed ofchicken originating in India. Similar fowl are found
throughout Southeast Asia. Asils were first used for cock fighting. Aseel is noted for
its pugnacity. The colour of the breed is white or black. The hens are not good layers, but are excellent sitters. Aseel breed is found in almost all states of India, but
abundant in Andhra Pradesh. It has a distinctive upright stance, drooping tail, and
well-defined musculature. The comb and wattles are much smaller than in most
other breeds. The color ranges from white to black with black breasted red being the
most common. In the U.S., the breed is listed as Critical by the American Livestock
Breeds Conservancy.

FISH (fluorescencein situhybridization) is a cytogenetic technique used to
detect and localize the presence or absence of specific DNAsequences on
chromosomes. FISH uses fluorescent probes that bind to only those parts of the
chromosome with which they show a high degree of sequence similarity.Fluorescence microscopy can be used to find out where the fluorescent probe
bound to the chromosomes. FISH is often used for finding specific features in
DNA for use in genetic counseling, medicine, and species identification. FISH
can also be used to detect and localize specific mRNAs within tissue samples.
In this context, it can help define the spatial-temporal patterns ofgene
expression within cells and tissues.
