Prof. O-Bong YANG
■GREETINGS FROM THE GENERAL CHAIRIt is my great pleasure to welcome you to the Global Photovoltaic Conference 2017 (GPVC2017) to be held March 15-17, 2017 at Kimdaejung Convention Center (KCC) in Gwangju, Korea. Gwangju is the leading city of the Honam Region, and the capital city of Korean culture and the arts. KCC is a landmark of Gwangju, which is available for the various conferences and exhibitions
by their versatile functional space and a variety of convenient facilities. We are all aware that photovoltaics is the most promising energy technology that is truly renewable, sustainable, and environment friendly. Our long-term dream as PV specialists is installing one PV system for each house without any governmental financial support, which is apparently a very challenging task. I am hoping that the holding of the GPVC2017 will help advance PV technology to achieve our goal by active interactions between conference participants. GPVC2017 will be a place for sharing new technological development, exchanging innovative ideas, promoting friendship, and experiencing new culture. The GPVC2017 committee and I are looking forward to seeing you on March 15-17, 2017 in Gwangju, Korea.
