You can also register iPad and create an iTunes Store account (i.e. obtain an Apple ID which is required for downloading iPad apps from Apple Store) if you don’t already have one.
1. Download and install the latest version of iTunes from www.itunes.com/download . 2. Power On your iPad, then connect it to a USB 2.0 port on your Mac or PC using the cable that
came with iPad.

3. Follow the onscreen instructions in iTunes to register iPad (if prompted) and setup the iPad sync options for music,video, and other content from your iTunes library, and also for your contacts, calendars, and bookmarks stored in your computer.

(II) Create an iTunes App Store account (Optional)
An App Store account is required when you download (or purchase) new apps (application) before installing to your iPad. It is optional if the build-in applications already installed in your iPad satisfied your needs.
The account creation process in App Store normally requires you to enter your credit card information for payment of purchased apps or Apple products in the future. However, you can skip entering the credit card information by following the procedures in webpage “Create an iTunes App Store account without a credit card” http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2534. By doing so, you can only download “Free Apps” from the store.

To create an App Store account with credit card information, double-click your iTunes application icon on your Window desktop to invoke the iTunes. Select [Store Create Account …]
Follow the steps to complete the account creation process.

(III) Configure your iPad
After activating your iPad, please follow the steps below to configure for connecting to the University Wi-Fi, Location Service, Sounds, Passcode protection, Keyboards (Text Input Methods), International Settings and Email Accounts.
