A WELCOME TO ALL COMPETITORS AND SUPPORTERS OF HUNTS KART RACING CLUB.
This weekend is the PENULTIMATE round of the 2014 HKRC Club Championship. There are 12 rounds for the championship with 11 to count. The June 2014 race weekend counted for two club championship rounds.
For the November race day there will be two heats and a final with race stoppage around 10.50am - 11.10 am for Remembrance Sunday - All to attend the start/ finish line along with the HKRC Officials.
The October was a repeat of September unfortunately experiencing again too many cases of abusive behaviour between drivers and parents. Driving standards have also created a cause for concern and HKRC are working hard to address this. This quite clearly spoils the atmosphere of the Club and brings the sport of karting to the headlines for all the wrong reasons. HKRC does not tolerate this unacceptable behaviour and will make all efforts to address this situation with the MSA and HKRC regulations.
GRID and PARC FERME PASSES are to be used. Membership passes. When entering the single grid or Parc Ferme areas only mechanics with passes will be permitted into these areas. ONE PASS per driver to be given to the mechanic.
Wrist bands will be provided for non-club members on the band will be issued. Use of GALLERY - No under 16’s are permitted onto the gallery and only mechanics with passes are permitted to use this area and smoking is not permitted. Anyone that are seen not to abide by these rules will not be permitted to return to the gallery for the race weekend.
The paddock is not for general car parking, the grass area on the other side of the tree line must be used for mechanics and spectator vehicles only. There is an area that can be used for camping at the far end of the site Any competitor parking deemed not to be appropriate will be asked to move. AND IF SAFE ACCESS to SITE and PADDOCK is compromised for emergency services if required then the meeting will have to be stopped.
On Saturday 7th June the bus-stop on circuit one was renamed “DEREK’S CORNER” in memory of Derek Dagless who sadly passed away Dec 7th 2013 after supporting HKRC for over 30 yrs
ALL PITBAY holders issued with a permit must display to enable the Club to ensure that competitors are parked in their correct bays. The permits will be handed out by HKRC officials or can be collected in race control over the race weekend..
We have reached the time of year where we ask existing pit bay holders, if you wish to retain your bay for the 2015 season. There are no price increases in bays from 2014. Please let our pit bay official or race control of your intentions. Existing bay owners have first refusal. We have already received enquiries from competitors. We would like to have confirmation by the December race meeting at the latest.

Remembrance SundayThe Hunts Karts Racing Club will observe the 2 minutes silence on Sunday. The meeting will be paused for 15 minutes and the service of remembrance from Whitehall will be played live on the tannoy. We welcome all
competitors and teams to join our officials at the start finish line to pay our respects.
Thank youOn the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month in 1918, the First World War ended. Since
then, 11th November or Armistice Day, has been enshrined in the memories of the nation as a day to pause and remember those who have given their lives for the peace and freedom we enjoy today.
Remembrance Sunday is the day traditionally put aside to remember all those who have given their lives for the peace and freedom we enjoy today. On this day people across the nation pause to reflect on the
sacrifices made by our brave Service men and women.
The National Service of Remembrance at the Cenotaph in Whitehall is a unique expression of national homage devoted to the remembrance of those who have given their lives in war. It was originally conceived as a commemoration of the war dead of the first World War but after the Second World War the scope of the ceremony was extended to focus on the nation’s dead of both World Wars, and in 1980 it was widened once again to extend the remembrance to all who have suffered and died in conflict in the service of their country
and all those who mourn them.
“Lest we forget”
VE Day AnniversaryTuesday 8 May 1945 was ‘Victory in Europe’ (VE) Day and it marked the formal end of Hitler’s war. With it came the end of six years of misery, suffering, courage and endurance across the world. Individuals reacted in very different ways to the end of the nightmare: some celebrated by partying; others spent the day in quiet reflection; and there were those too busy carrying out tasks to do eithe same again.
Lest we forgetKimbolton airfield was the home of the 379th Bomb Group during WW2. The 379th Bomb Group flew
B17s and the group was signified by the letter K within a triangle on its tail. During all of its 330 bombing missions, it dropped 26,640 tons of bombs, shot down 315 enemy aircraft and lost 141 of its B-17s to enemy action. The 379th Bomb Group was the only unit ever awarded the 8th honour in recognition of its achievements. They also received two Presidential Unit Citations. The Group flew its last combat
mission on April 25, 1945 and was finally deactivated on July 25, 1945.
Hunts Kart Racing ClubRemembrance Day
World War II, fought, from 1939 until 1945, was the largest armed conflict the world has ever seen, and remains one of the most significant events in human history. Military forces from over seventy nations fought air, land and sea battles spanning much of the globe, resulting in the deaths of over sixty million people. The war ended in 1945 with an Allied victory. After France had fallen in 1940, the United Kingdom was out of money. Franklin Roosevelt persuaded the U.S. Congress to pass the Lend-Lease act on March 11, 1941, which provided the United Kingdom and 37 other countries with US$50 billion dollars in military equipment and other supplies, US$31.4 billion of it going to the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth.Canada operated a similar program that sent $4.7 billion in supplies to the United Kingdom and the Soviet Union. In the summer of 1941, the United States, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands began an oil embargo against Japan, threatening its ability to fight a major war at sea or in the air. However, Japanese forces continued to advance into China. Japan planned an attack on Pearl Harbor to cripple the U.S. Pacific Fleet, then seize oil fields in the Dutch East Indies. On December 7, a Japanese carrier fleet launched an unexpected air attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. The raid destroyed most of the American aircraft on the island and knocked the main American battle fleet out of action (six battleships sank, but four of them along with two other badly damaged battleships eventually returned to service). However, the four American aircraft carriers that had been the intended main target of the Japanese attack were off at sea. At Pearl Harbor, the main dock, supply, and repair facilities were quickly repaired. The attack united American public opinion to demand vengeance against Japan. The following day, December 8, the United States declared war on Japan. On the same day, Japan invaded Malaya, and China officially declared war against Japan.Germany declared war on the United States on December 11, even though it was not obliged to do so under the Tripartite Pact. Hitler hoped that Japan would support Germany by attacking the Soviet Union. Japan did not oblige because it had signed a non-aggression treaty with the Soviet Union. Instead, Germany’s declaration largely removed any significant opposition to the United States’ joining the fight in the Europe Theatre with full commitment. The U.S., UK, and Canadian air forces counterattacked the Luftwaffe and began large-scale strategic bombing, eventually targeting major cities inside Germany. The U.S concentrated on daytime bombing, while the RAF done their bombing during the night. This effort was orchestrated by Air Chief Marshall Harris, who became known as ‘Bomber Harris’. Additionally, Winston Churchill ordered “terror raids” intended to wipe out whole cities in one go, by incendiary devices causing firestorms, thus depriving German workers of their homes. Mass raids involving upwards of 500 to 1000 heavy bombers at a time were undertaken against airfields, industrial centers, submarine bases, rail-marshalling yards, oil depots and, in the later stages of the war, launching sites for weapons such as the V-1 missile (nicknamed ‘doodlebug’), the V-2 rocket and a jet-engined plane, the Messerschmitt Me 262. The Luftwaffe was overwhelmed and had only a few operational planes left by late 1944 on the Western Front. By 1945, all major German cities were burnt-out ruins.

20141959
Hunts Kart Race Club held the last of its ‘summer month’ format meetings on Sunday October 12th 2014, with three heats and a 10 minute final on offer to each competitor. This meant that most finals were running to 15 or 16 laps.
Honda Cadet: Dragon Pinsent’s early lead evaporated within four laps as Harry Thompson, Zak Rogers, Ben Kasperczak and Louie Westover dragged each other along and onto the rear bumper of the early leader. Pinsent suddenly found himself in fifth as his four pursuers streamed past. Kasperczak took over at the front, with Thompson and Rogers locked on to his rear bumper. A lap later Thompson led over the line and then it was the turn of Rogers to be top dog. Amazingly, Pinsent had now recovered enough the leap forward from fourth back into the lead, but with Thomson, Rogers and Kasperzcak still pressing, the next time round he was third. Kasperzcak moved up to second, but was then taken out at Derek’s by Rogers, allowing Thompson to win by a comparatively safe half a second, ahead of Rogers and Pinsent. Rogers was excluded though and so Pinsent was promoted to second and Westover third.
Senior Rotax: Liam Ferguson led from the first corner to the line as poleman Andrew Winter was shuffled to the outside at Stow and dropped down the order. Ashlee Whiteman was looking comfortable in second but his pace dropped off in the final few laps allowing Luke Knott into second.
JuniorRotaxandX30:Inem Coker already had a half second lead at the end of lap one and he continued to grow the gap to those behind him. Initially, Lewis Bickers moved into second from Jack Brookes, Ronan Quinn and Aaron Drury. Of these, it was Drury who was moving in the right direction, third on lap two, then second on lap five. His hold on that place was temporarily relinquished a lap later with Bickers and Tye Mason both squeezing past. A lap later, Mason was in second, Drury third and Bickers back in fourth. Drury retook second on lap ten and withstanding Mason’s best efforts took the runner up spot. Mason finished a comfortable third. The X30 class was won by Joshua Simms.

TKM Extreme: The Extreme final saw a lights to flag win for Andrew Rush who finished streets ahead of the rest. Owain Rosser and Michael Cornell had a race long battle over second and third, swapping positions on several occasions. It was Cornell who emerged from Kimbolton for the last time ahead of Rosser with just a whisker separating them at the line.
Iame Cadet: Dexter Patterson led the way, but it wasn’t all plain sailing. Piers Henderson kept Patterson honest for the first half of the race, but then lost several places. Thomas Smith took up the challenge, but whilst chasing the lead, had to contend with Bray Kenneally and Christopher Draper. With two laps to go Kenneally went to pass Smith, but spun off. The gap opened up for Draper and Brendon Martland to take second and third. In a dramatic finish Draper just failed to snatch the win from Patterson.
Mini Max: With three front runners in a spin on lap one, life was made easy for Johnathan Hoggard who was already looking good for a lights to flag win. Saul Robinson was hunted down by Fin Kenneally and had to relinquish second on lap eight. A couple of laps later, Thomas Byrne pushed Robinson down to fourth, but although he regained the place a lap later, a spin left Robinson back in ninth from which there was no way forward. So when the flag came down, it was Hoggard winning by over five seconds from Kenneally and Byrne.
SeniorX30,177andMasters:In X30 Lewis Outten was the man on the move. Fifth on lap one, he took a couple of laps to move up to third and two more to bridge the gap to leader Adam Smith. The order stayed the same to the line, with Max Clarke taking third after George Matthew was excluded. Alex Rowley looked to be running away with 177, but his kart let him down and he failed to finish. Charlie Whaley took the class win from Dan Fidler. Derek Watts won the Masters class ahead of Simon Harris and Darren Whaley.
Junior TKM: From their row two start, Chris Whitton and Bradley White got the better of Matthew Taylor and Martin Ayres. Whitton built up a decent lead over the next few laps, with White also clear of third placed Shea Pearce who had by now passed Taylor and Ayres. As half distance approached, White began to make inroads into Whitton’s lead and suddenly he was on the rear bumper of the leader. A lap later he hit the front, but this stung Whitton into action. Allowing White only two laps of glory, Whitton re-took the lead on the penultimate lap. White tried his utmost to reverse the situation, but Whitton held on to win by less than a tenth of a second. Ayres managed to usurp Shea on the last lap to grab third.
