How To Throw a Cast Net

Shake the lead line out and make sure there are no snags or tangles. follow our instructions for prepping a cast net to make this much easier.

grab the net with your left hand halfway between the top and bottom .

roll the net over your right hand towards your body forming a loop.

the net looks like this after you form the loop

grab the part of the net closest to your body, double check for tangled around the lead line and then split the weights at the bottom in half, left and right.

roll the half of the net that’s in your hand (closest to your body) over your left hand

done correctly you’ll see an area of the lead line that drops down, right in the middle. This is where you’ll grab the cast net. this goes in your mouth if throwing this way.

if you prefer not to use your mouth to hold the net lay this over the top of your left hand.

grab the outside of the lead line (away from your body) with your right hand about half way down.

now roll the part of the net laying over the top of your left hand into your right hand on top of lead line you grabbed in the previous step.

rotate your upper body and throw. make sure to follow the throw through completely with your right arm as you throw.
