caregivers

to prevent, detect, and report

health care fraud, errors, and abuse

through outreach, counseling, and education.

Detect: Compare your Medicare Summary Notice (MSN) to your health care activity and look for:

Charges for something you did not receive Items billed twice Services that were not ordered by your doctor

Report: Talk to your healthcare provider

What is a MSN (Medicare Summary Notice)

? Mailed to beneficiaries enrolled in Part

A and/or Part B (Original Medicare)

Mailed every three months when Medicare has been billed

Lists details about beneficiary claims

It is NOT a bill

Reference the MY MEDICARE & YOU handbook mailed each fall.

Remember, you can access your claims online at any time by setting up your own account on www.mymedicare.gov
