How to get unlimited

free cloud backup storage

Select a proper

backup solution

For this tutorial, I’ve chosen CloudBacko Free

(free.cloudbacko.com) simply because:

• It’s FREE!

• It combines Unlimited cloud storage accounts of

Google Drive and Dropbox into one unlimited big

space!

• It encrypts the data and filenames locally before

storing on the cloud

• You can retrieve backup data anytime, anywhere,

with a web browser!

Combine all cloud drives into one

Need a big cloud space for backup? CloudBacko Free combines all your cloud

drives into a big space. You can always add new accounts to the space when

needed, making it unlimited in size.

Backup through web browser

Everything from backup to restore is done through your web browser. No

software is required. Thus, you can perform backup and restore anytime,

anywhere.

Everything encrypted

All your data as well as filenames will be encrypted on your machines before

storing on the cloud. Thus, no one, not even NSA, is able to read your backed up

data stored on the cloud.

Lightning fast

CloudBacko’s speed boosting incremental backup and multi-thread technologies

allows backup to be done lightning fast after the initial full backup.

Keeping unlimited versions forever

You are able to define how long the historical versions of your data you need to

keep. Those versions can be kept forever if needed.

Crystal clear reports

CloudBacko’s reports give you crystal clear visibility into the backup details of all

destinations, including usage trend, backup and restore reports, log for warnings

and errors, etc.

How it works

First of all, you need to create a new backup

set. A backup set is for defining a set of data

that you need to backup. Click the [Backup

Sets] button.

Click [Add new backup set] button.

Give this backup set a customized name if

needed. Then click [Next].

You can select the common folders listed

here as the backup source.

Or, you can click the circled link to

choose other files as backup source.

Choose the folders and / or files to backup.

Then, you need to set up the destinations.

We recommend to create a local backup

destination for fast backup and restore.

Select the path of this local destination.

When completed, the chosen destination will be

listed under "Existing destinations".

Then, we can add a cloud destination,

e.g. Dropbox.

Select [Dropbox] from the list, and modify the

name of this destination if needed.

Click the [Test] button.

A new web browser window will be opened for

signing in to Dropbox. Input your credentials to

sign-in.

Click [Allow] to grant CloudBacko the access to

your Dropbox account.

Select the provided code and copy it (Ctrl + C).

Switch to CloudBacko's browser window. Paste

to code to the input field as shown.

Done. Dropbox is added. Now you have two

backup destinations.

If you want to get more cloud storage space for

backup, you can group multiple cloud

destinations as one. No upper limit!

One method is click one of the newly created

cloud destination, i.e. Dropbox.

Click the [Convert to a new destination group].

A new destination group is created, and your

Dropbox is moved to this destination group.

To add another cloud storage to this group,

simply click the [Add] button.

For example, you can add a Google Drive

account to it.

Click [Accept] to grant CloudBacko the access

to your Google Drive account.

Copy the code provided (Ctrl + C).

Paste the code into CloudBacko's provided

input field.

Okay, you have 2 free cloud storage services

grouped as one.

You can add as many free cloud storage as

needed, even different accounts of the same

service providers, e.g. Google Drive as

illustrated.

When completed, the destination group will be

shown under the list of "Existing destinations".

The destination group will be treated as one

destination, with all the storage space

consolidated as one.

As you have more than one destinations, you can

select [Sequential] or [Concurrent] backup to these

destinations.

Then, we need to setup the encryption. It is highly

recommended to turn on the encryption for cloud

backup, so as to encrypt all your data and filenames

before storing on the cloud. The default encryption

method is good enough.

If you need to define your own encryption

setting, select the [Custom] encryption type.

Okay, your backup set is created successfully.

You can run a backup by clicking the [Backup

now] button below.

You can choose where

and how to backup in this

page, and click the

[Backup] button when

ready.

Backup to a local destination will be very fast.

However, it will take more time for backing up

to the cloud.

When backup completed, you can click the

report icon as indicated to ready the status

report.

Everything done by CloudBacko is logged here.

Alternatively, you can click the [Report] button

in the frontpage.

The reports of all the backup jobs will be shown

here. Click on each row to read the details.

Here are the details of the selected backup job.

You can click the [View log] button to read the

more detailed logs.
