Transcript of How To Dignose Engine Misfire

Popping and sneezing of engine in cold weather means your engine got lean running misfire..

When engine misfires, the unburned fuel-air discharged with

exhaust steam that gives a heavy gas smell ….

The misfire produces a vibration in the vehicle that differs

vehicle to vehicle as per rpm..

Engine shows a puff of grey smokes from the

cylinder with leaky injectors…

Worn spark plug

Faulty

spark

plug wires

Leaking

fuel

injector

Vacuum

leak

Worn

rings

and

valve

seals

When the spark happens, it burns out a small part of metal and gradually this process makes the spark plug worn out ….

If the damaged spark plugs not get changed in time then it can lead

to misfire…

Lean misfire happens due to weak fuel injector …

Leaking Fuel Injector

Conditions of leaking in fuel injector :

2. The faulty fuel pressure regulator or plugged fuel return line that

adding too much pressure to the injectors..

Vacuum Leak

Vacuum leak causes a lack of fuel to individual

cylinders and lead to single cylinder misfire.

Vacuum leak always caused by broken piston ring or leaking cylinder head gasket ….

Oil ashes in spark plug always caused by worn

valve stem seals or worn piston rings…

Flash Over or Carbon Tracking

The most common misfire problem happens due to flash over …

If the battery voltage exists but still the cylinder misfires then the quickest

diagnose procedure is to switch the coil from cylinder to cylinder and if still

follows then there is a problem in coil…..

Change the coil and now the engine is ready for work….
