Your anger is mostly towards yourself, because you were not able to

handle that situation effectively

See the anger as your partner’s deep emotional pain. Try to calm down

and evaluate the cause of that pain and act accordingly.

Make sure you have a better reason for your bad mood. This is not to find

another reason to argue upon, but to solve the fight from getting worse.

Try discussion instead of fighting. Keep out your emotion and try to be

logical.

Admit your mistake instead of going angry on that helpless situation.

Anger can be destructive. But it can take you closer to your partner if you

know how to deal with the situation and the person opposite to you.
