People give pets food, water and shelter.

Lions are an example of a wild animal.

Wild animals must find their own food, water and

shelter.

1) Animals need Food

Pandas are wild animals.

Pandas eat bamboo leaves.

Some animals have special body part to get food. Example:

A giraffe has a long neck to reach leaves on tall trees.

An elephant has a trunk to pull leave and put it in its mouth.

2) Animals need Oxygen

In the morning ------- Plants give out oxygen.

During the night ------- Plants take in oxygen.

Hippos and whales rise above water

to get air (they use lungs).

Fish get oxygen from the water

through their gills.

Insects get oxygen through tiny holes

in their body.

3) Animals need water

Water leaves the body in the form of:

Breath Sweat Urine

How is this water replaced?

Some animals drink water.

Some animals get water from foods

they eat.

4) Animals need Shelter
