It can cause damage to themselves and to property around them.

The ambulance and fire men are called to the scene.

Why are we telling youIts important for us firemen to come and

teach you about fire safety because it is important because firemen can be called to a scene of kids messing with fireworks from year 6 age which is 10 to 11.

What to doAlways check that no children or animals are hiding

in the bonfire before lighting.Keep some buckets of water nearby in case of

emergency and to damp down after the event.Bonfires built on council land without permission will

be removed.Make sure all pets are inside at all times.Alcohol and fireworks do not mix and may lead to

injury.Never throw fireworks.Make sure everyone is standing at least 10 meters

away from the fires.

Have a Safe Bonfire Night! Please consider attending an organised event rather than risking your safety by having your own bonfire.

If you're planning on hosting a fireworks party "be safe, not sorry" and keep it free from accidents by following the Fireworks Code.

It's illegal for anyone under the age of 18 to possess fireworks in a public place.
