Bearing arrangement(hydraulic end):
Solid, metal-jacketed resign-impregnated carbongraphite
Directionof rotation:
counterclockwise (= left as seen from drive end)
Bearing arrangement(other resp. atmospheric):
- medium-lubricated axial-radial- bearing unit in solid silicon carbide design plus two grease- lubricated single-row radial ball bearings- One self aligning angular double row ball bearing, either with lifetime grease-filling or optionally with oil sump lubrication according to API 610 (incl. labyrinth seals)
DesignThe SHP is a horizontally mounted, segmented radially split high pressure side channel pump (single or multistage) with additional suction stage (NPSH impeller) and secondary containment for highest operational safety for all clear and slightly cloudy liquids especially close to vaporization (low boiling light ends).
1 Heavy duty pressure casings meet the API 610 nozzle load standards. The suction (2 inch) and discharge (1 inch) nozzle are optio-nally according to ANSI /ASME B16.5 or DIN EN 1092-1.
2 Different shaft sealing technologies are available. API 682 cartridge seals (single or dual) of all popular makes (several brands) can be as well adapted as a full pressure 100 bar magnetic coupling.
3 With the new suction stage (patent pending) speed-independent* NPSH-values of 0,2 m are achievable. In combination with a head generation of more than 1000 m this is extraordinary low. The SHP can be run with variable speed in a wide operating range (1450 – 3600 1/min).*without any negative influence, as by using an inducer

5 The jacket housing (outer barrel) is also an option for lower system pressures; it enables the SHP to advanced operational safety. The inner of that secondary containment normally is dry and sealed with O-rings. It can be inerted or monitored with a pressure gauge or liquid level sensor. The secondary barrel design is the applied API 685 safety philo-sophy for the hydraulic end.
6 The new high performance hydraulics is specially designed for pulsation-free high pressure pumping. Against common side channel designs, the SHP is not self priming, but neverthe-less high percentages of entrained gas or vapor in the liquid stream are handled in 2-phase-mixtures perma-nently.
7 With the stable and steady rising, steep performance curve of a side channel pump, the SHP operating region is of 12,5 % to 125 % of BEP. This exceeds the requirements of the API 610 by far.
4 The materials of all wetted parts are according to API 610 to achieve full compliance. Hydraulics and pumps can be tailor-made in the material classes S-5, S-6, S-8, C-6 and A-8 with shortest lead-times from our stock.
