• Remember frequent contact often times equals completion & success

Clear Expectations

• Set communication expectations for yourself and your students. Honor them!– Timely feedback and grading are essential

• Is it 24 hours turnaround, 48 hours? Log in often, respond quickly, and convey enthusiasm

• Clearly communicate work/learning expectations. Using a video is a great way to do this.

• Provide strategies and tips for online success• Teach Netiquette• Keep your course updated• Use a syllabus

Peer Support

• Create an environment for peer support– Have a discussion forum of tips and tricks where

students can post suggestions– Set up a Facebook page and/or Twitter account for

your course. – Create clubs, peer tutoring sessions, and other

collaborative forums to encourage relationships and support in the classroom.

• Use a scheduler to allow students to make appointments– This allows students to choose a time that works

for both of you – Organizes your time and day more efficiently

based on your daily tasks• Free schedulers, such as, Appointy, allows

• Take time for yourself – set limits• Stick to your schedule• Go for a walk, take a break, do yoga – just

make sure you take time for you!
