HFF Crop Planner 2015 - Homefront...

Dear Homefront Farmers Client, We are excited to start planning your vegetable garden for 2015! To make sure you get the most from your garden, we have put together a list of organic vegetables, herbs, and edible flowers that work well in Connecticut. Please send us an email of what you would like to grow from this list, and we will put together a tentative design based on your choices. We encourage all our clients to choose an array of herbs and flowers in addition to vegetables since flowering of these plants helps to attract beneficial insects, including pollinators and parasitic insects that help to eat the “bad bugs” in your garden. Remember that many varieties of vegetables we like to grow are not native to Connecticut, and when we plant them we introduce a new mini-ecosystem that must be balanced with the appropriate microorganisms, insects, and critters all the way up the food web.
