Things we’ll cover today:

Supplies• Everything in cabinets and labeled

• If you need something that’s not available, send request to Casie at artdocent@apollopta.org for

approval BEFORE purchasing.

• Check requests must be submitted with receipt and signed off by Casie and VP of Programs.

• If you find something usable or empty – go ahead and toss it.

• Take of what we’ve got – if you take something into the classroom, please bring it back promptly.

• Please keep the art room clean.

Working with co-docent(s) and others at the same grade level• If there is more than 1 docent for the class, just meet

and decide who’s role will be what.

• Work with others in same grade level

• It’s up to you guys! Just communicate what’s works best for all.

Scheduling lessons and Art Room

• Reach out to the teacher for best days/times

• Coordinate with other docents

• Art Room schedule is in the office. Make sure to schedule set-up and clean-up time.

• Clay: Remember to schedule kiln time too.

Lesson plans available: books and online!

• One hard copy per docent team per class – teachers also have a copy

• Meet the Masters vs. Arts Attack

• Available online via a company called “Cubby”. No log-in required and links will be sent and posted on the PTA website

Art of Discovery• What is it?

• Coming Early this year! Dec. 1st to Dec. 13th

• Training is Saturday, October 18th from 1pm-4pm at Bellevue Arts Museum (4 can go).

• Trainers train in November

Hanging artwork

• Lots of wall space this year, please hang the kiddos work up.

• Make it as fancy or not as you want.

• Put the kids name under their masterpiece.

• Take a picture of the displayed artwork and email to Jenn at artdocent@apollopta.org with teacher’s name.

• Please add the card that says “Your donations to the Apollo PTA made this Art Project Possible…..” The teachers have them.

Artsonia• Online gallery, products can be purchased with students artwork

on it.

• Permission slips have gone home.

• No names on the artwork before taking a picture of it.

• Take the pictures and send to artsonia@apollopta.org with list of who’s artwork is which students. Class lists with screen names to

be provided.

• If unable to do this, please let us know.
