Stewardship
A Way of Life
Stewardship Reflection
We have a loving God who wants us to walk with Him and call upon Him.
Living Stewardship . . . Pillar of Prayer
“Seek the LORD while He may be found, call Him while He is near.” This week, spend some time in silence in front of the Lord in the Tabernacle or ask the Lord to speak to you while you read from your Bible. Seek Him out this week and listen to what He has to say.

Adoration
of the Blessed
Sacrament
Jesus is waiting for you!
Eucharistic Adoration is the traditional Catholic practice of taking the consecrated host, the Blessed Sacrament, and placing it in a sun-shaped vessel called a
Monstrance in order for the faithful to look upon Our Lord and pray to Him in peaceful contemplation. You are invited to join us every Wednesday in the Cathedral from 2:30—5:00 p.m. for Adoration and some quiet reflection and prayer. We will offer this in place of our normal Friday Adoration in the Holy Cross Chapel, which is suspended for the time being. Please remember to sit in marked pews and maintain social distancing. All visitors must wear a mask inside the Cathedral (except for children under the age of 2 or people with breathing difficulties).
5 TWENTY-FIFTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
6 ft
Distribution of Holy Communion We are pleased to once again distribute Holy Communion in the usual manner during Holy Mass. During this time of Covid-19 you are asked to keep the following in mind: 1. As you approach the minister of Holy
Communion, please maintain the safe distance of six-feet between each person.
2. Our utmost concern is for the reverence for the Blessed Sacrament.
3. Please lower you mask before receiving Holy Communion. This is so that there is no other action between the Eucharist being placed into your hands and your reverent reception of our Lord in the Eucharist.
4. No one is to wear gloves while either distributing or receiving Holy Communion.
5. Approach the minister, receive the Body of Christ by responding “Amen.”
6. Step aside, place the Sacrament on your tongue. One is not to “walk away” with the Sacred Host.
7. Re-cover your face and return to your place. Thank you for your cooperation and for the respect and reverence that you hold the great gift of Christ present to us in Holy Communion.
Reminders:
Wear a mask Face coverings must be worn at all times while in the Cathedral.
Sanitize your hands Please sanitize your hands upon entering the Cathedral. We encourage you to bring your own hand sanitizer but there are also dispensers at the entrances.
Social Distance We are allowed 50% occupancy with every other pew open and six feet between people or households. Please maintain a distance of six feet from others while inside and when entering and exiting the Cathedral.
Dispensation from Mass Until further notice, the dispensation from the requirement to attend Sunday Mass remains in effect. Those who are most vulnerable and at a greater risk (due to age, preexisting health conditions or being in close proximity to vulnerable people) are encouraged to remain home at this time. If a person shows any symptoms of illness, they are asked to please not come to church. We encourage you to join us for Mass on the Catholic Faith Network.
Fall Mass Schedule & Mass Intentions Our Fall Schedule began September 13th and with that, some Mass scheduling items need to be noted as the 10:30 a.m. Mass “officially” resumed:
For the summer, and due to cleaning and capacity limits, the 8:00 a.m. Mass was suspended and those intentions were moved to an added 10:30 a.m. Mass in the Parish Center. For September, the 8:00 a.m. Mass intentions for September 20th and 27th will now be honored at the 9:00 a.m. Mass the following Saturday.
Beginning Sunday, October 4th, the 8:00 a.m. Sunday Mass will be celebrated in the Parish Center (instead of the Cathedral) and the 9:30 a.m. Mass will resume at its normal time in the Cathedral.
We thank you for your understanding and patience as we determine the best way to celebrate all of our Masses and honor the intentions arranged for all.
As we welcome more people back to worship at Mass, we request you take note of the following items
regarding schedules and attendance at the Cathedral:

Guidelines For Funeral
and Memorial Masses As we gather to remember our loved ones, we remind those attending of capacity and seating requirements for the Cathedral. We currently have every other pew open for seating. Please be mindful of the social distancing protocols in place when taking a seat. Members of the same household and those traveling to the Mass together may sit together, but we request those arriving separately maintain the required 6 feet distance from each other and households and sit in open pews only. Once we reach our occupancy limit, we will not be able to admit others. Please also remember that face coverings are required inside the Cathedral for all in attendance, with the exception of children under age 2 and those with breathing difficulties. Your charity, cooperation and understanding concerning these protocols are appreciated.

Remembering and Caring
for our Senior Priests
Do you ever think about a favorite
Pastor or Parish Priest and wonder how they are and where they may be living?
Well, for our Senior Priests who are living at St. Pius X Enriched Living Facility in Amityville, life is good and sometimes very busy. Even in retirement our senior priests retain roles as our shepherds, and St. Pius X enables these dedicated men who live there
to be fully engaged members of the community. “Still on duty,” they serve as our teachers, counselors, and spiritual leaders. The special collection for retired priests living at
St. Pius X Enriched Living Facility will take place this weekend.
Please be as generous as possible! Thank You! www.drvc.org/stpiusx
